Do you wash them or throw them out?

I rarely use ziplock bags as I see no advantage to "sealing" your food for the few hours it's in there and they are more expensive than a regular baggie.

I never even thought of washing them.

Depends. If there is something like lettuce in it, then yes, I'll wash it, and reuse it.

I totally Grandma the ziplock bags. :funny1:

Seems really unsanitary to wash them. Hard to clean properly.

I reuse them around the classroom (to send $ or CDs home with the kids....art supplies that kinda thing) For 'dry' foods like cereal and chips I'll reuse a bag to put more of the same thing in....

but they are recyclable :) They can be returned with your grocery bags :)

I try to use them at least 3 or 4 times but once meat gets caught up in the zip lock feature then its really hard to get out and they get tossed, Sometimes I even forget and wash them then toss them because the stains don't show up when they are wet.

I re-use e'm for dry goods/foods or veggies. I would never re-use one that had stored meat or cheese.

It would depend on what I'm using the bag for. Some get washed and get used again, some don't.

As someone else stated, I just don't see how sanitary it can be to reuse them - esp if washing them
how many papertowels do you waste drying them ?

actually, and kind of in theme with this thread... if I wash my hands and then dry them with a paper towel, I dry the paper towel and re-use it for another task.

You soak, soap, wash, and air dry them just like you do a dish

What's the big difference? :dunno:

I don't reuse bags that have been used for raw meat, but other than that I don't see the issue.

This, although I have moved in the direction of less paper towels and more hand towels, dishrags, cloth napkins, etc.

Reuse ziplocks in the following way:

dry goods for dry goods
veggies for veggies

I don't see any reason to throw them out after one use.

Try to use them as little as possible, and wash them and reuse them when I do.

I don't seem to need to re use zip-locks...I seem to get new ones delivered with new dry goods...oh actually I do, the real li'l ones to carry sample dry goods when a whole normal sized bag of dry goods is not needed...
