all everyone is do is throw poop at each other now...even those who were once civil have resorted to condescending snootiness and everyone in here just looks like a troll anymore. i are walk away. maybe i'll pop in from time to time if something interesting comes up and i do still enjoy the doc club so mebbe i'll continue on that. i'll always be lurking though. have at it, folks.

OK......is that somewhere between bad and a travesty?

I spent months building civil conversation in this forum about issues and encouraged others to participate. It didn't take long for mold to grow though. You're not exempt either, vic.

Poop and pudding - one slightly less chunky than the other, but still eerily similar.

G

One of the qualities you possess that I deeply admire is your willingness to engage others who offer views opposing your beliefs. You're much better at that than me and most everyone I've ever met honestly. You are the definition of open minded.

I'd have to imagine the only reason you've chose to silence one particular voice is that like me, you feel that that voice isn't motivated to expand conversations/ideas/debate. That voice (self admittedly) is here to destroy idea exchanges for self entertainment purposes via trolling.

I always thought the ignore feature was unnecessary. Now I understand why it's there....

Yeah, it's reactivated and I'm not playing anymore. Ive given PF way too many benefits of the doubt. He just is not interested in expanding conversations. He is here to deliberately derail them.

Perhaps if enough of us that like to discuss simply ignore him, we can move the pendulum back to civil, thoughtful discussion instead of the spiral into derpville.

you also have to realize we really don't have freedom of speech here at all. It's a website owned by a corporation.

we're not allowed to talk about the things we truly agree upon.

I work within the set parameters.

oh and vic, I think you understood what I was saying about being a cop is someone's second choice.

It was not a very serious statement. I don't have studies. All studies must start out with a hypothesis. My statement was a hypothesis.

I can't imagine anyone choosing to expose themselves to the amount of danger they must face for the small amount of pay.

But who knows. It wasn't supposed to be some offensive statement. I didn't realize we had so many undercover cop boardies.

"Your nonsense" isn't nonsense. YOu can defend your position articulately and with intelligence. That isn't nonsense, It's a healthy approach. If you see things as false, please, dive in and work to correct a wrong how you see it. The media today is getting hostile in this idea. We're being forced to agree I see more than not.

Exactly. I thought he was either misunderstood or expressed
himself poorly or accidentally swung the pendulum too far
when trying to voice his views or even was just trying to be
occasionally humorous. But a recent post showed that self
admittedly the game for him is ruining the game.

Hey, it's fine with me if you want to juggle instead of play
baseball. Be a jester, I don't care. But when you come over and
start playing baseball -- then suddenly run from first, around
a tree, and directly to third just for the hell of it -- well, that's
cool too. Just don't expect me to be willing to start a friendly
game of ball with you again.

...we can move the pendulum back to civil, thoughtful discussion instead of the spiral into derpville.

Well, we did get the terms "derp" and "derpville" -- so that's something.
