had the most beautiful weather last saturday (good cause sunday was wet & miserable)...bits of drama here and there but what can you do? always that one person in the family that's a negative nancy

the weather in st thomas also couldn't have been better (and I got my first tan in a good five years)

wasn't by design. We had wanted to be on lake up in the mountains and it just worked out that way. Jess had been there as a little girl, but had no recollection of the place. I went for the first time when we looked at the house we ended up renting for the reception.

Homemade dress, and it's so lovely!

the upstairs of that house was like a maze. one bedroom led to another to another (it slept up to 18)...

all the rooms were different colors (our room was PINK! with marriage certificates and pictures on the walls. it even had a wedding dress in it already!)

we had a pair of ladies walk by and crash the dancing. one grabbed my uncle and dragged him onto the dance floor.

mom made the bouquet, too, actually, from grocery store flowers

the things I put that woman through before the wedding (probably makes up for the stress she put me through the last year!)

Jess looked AMAZING. She and her mom did an awesome job. I have to be honest, when she told me this was her plan, I thought she was crazy.

It was a dream wedding because of all of our amazingly talented friends and family. Outside of me hiring the chef and a server, everyone pitched in and we did the whole thing on our own. The house slept 18 people and all of our closest were there with us for the whole weekend.

all credit really needs to go to my ma. I cut the dress (badly) and she managed to fudge it to fit me with some nice underwear.
