i don't know a lot about the healing power of potatoes nor their cosmetic value 
but did you know that a baked potato has more vitamin c than an orange? that i did know
and i just want to say that i love my gray hair. am i the only one who is gray and proud?! i earned these mutherfuckers!

A month or so ago I posted Van Morrison's "Tupelo Honey" for Nancykind. Now I've cone across a version that has the soul and determination that Nancy has.

Kerri came by and i had fallen asleep upstairs.

Erin, that kinda makes sense to me since if you lay a cut onion on your ear it can clear up an infection. although i think you're supposed to bake it first.....
i've been really tired this week, i hope my white cell counts are good tomorrow. i'm rubbing my immune booster acupressure points like mad today. my fingertips have been sore the last week or so. neuropathy is usually tingling so they weren't sure what it was, last week. i haven't lost any real function but i can't grip with my fingertips well, i need scissors to open a granola bar, because the packaging doesn't allow room to use the pads of my fingers. opening jars has been a little harder (but my sister gave me a black & decker jar opener a few years ago!
). this week my heels have started to hurt. 
i have to ask the dr about that one tomorrow. weirdness continues!
a lady who works in one of our Canadian offices was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer the other week and has started chemo and radiation, with surgery to follow. inflammatory bc is more rare and more aggressive than mine and my heart hurts for her. she's also going through a divorce right now. cancer sucks.

Nancy, my mom had inflammatory breast cancer (the 2nd time she had breast cancer). Your co-worker is only the 2nd time I have ever heard of it. I was freaked out by what I read when she was diagnosed but she had a chemo and then a mastectomy and is doing well a few years later. But yeah cancer sucks (and so does divorce).
I am sorry to have missed you but glad you were resting and was good to hear your voice 15 minutes later.

stupid cancer!!! stop giving my friend a hard time and weird symptoms before i kick you in the nuts!!
wish i could kick cancer's ass for ya, nancy darlin! do they have you taking high doses of vitamin d3? that's good for your immune system. you probably know that, butt just in case, i thought i'd share it

my numbers were good enough, for an off-week. they're going to use ice gloves on me from here on out because if my fingers hurt now they're concerned about what the change to taxol in a few weeks will do. the theory is that almost frozen cells can't absorb the meds as much and the side effect can be lessened. worth a shot.
the feet she thinks might be a skin issue, she says the heels looks a little dry. i'm to do a rich cream lotion with socks for a week or so and see if they don't feel less sore. if they don't we can do ice boots during treatment.
then i went in to work for a while and said hello to folks. the president's (Jim) wife is on comfort care at the hospital which i knew, they unhooked her feeding tubes two weeks ago and are playing the horrible waiting game. today i found out that his 40something year old son killed himself last week. he shot himself in his car in his dad's driveway but fortunately a visiting aunt found him and not Jim. my heart is so sad for this family. they haven't announced it and plan to do both funerals at one time, they think the mother would want that. just awful awful awful....

wow! "i complained when i had no shoes til i met a man that had no feet."
that is so horrible. my heart goes out to that guy and his family. ♥
