I'm going to Washington, DC with the Alzheimer's Association for the next couple of days. I probably wont have internet connection so I'm gonna give hugs for each day now.

soulshiny came up for this treatment, thank you Kelly!!! then her/our friend Julie met us at the hospital too. Kelly i think you were in the bathroom when we were talking and Julie suddenly said "ooh, your body likes that stuff!" i was confused for a second but she clarified that she had picked up a very strong "it's working" vibe. i was on the last bag o meds, so the adriamycin was up at the time. i like it
just woke up from a nap and am feeling suuuuper nauseous but just ate something and i'm wearing my wristbands, took my meds and am using additional means to control it as well. and if i barf, well then, i have MORE meds for that! if i never use that last one, that is ooookay by me, however! i'm grateful that they have developed so much better means to help control this particular side effect in recent years.
Kelly met my dad today. when we walked into the lobby by the cancer center, there he was! and he'd already been to the check in window to see if i was around already so i guess he is getting pretty comfortable over there! so we sat in the waiting room before my blood draw and he said he wasn't staying, he was running errands. he couldn't bear to do the actual chemo part with me anyway, so that was fine. so when the nurse came out to get me, he stood up with me, walked over to the hallway, we said goodbye and i went into the blood lab and i thought he left.
but apparently he went BACK to Kelly who was still in the waiting room and said "thank you for all your support!" and gave her a thumbs up! i knew nothing about this until Kelly and i got upstairs to the dr's waiting room and she kept saying "your dad is so cute!" and "he's so cute!".
which he is, of course!
and Julie gave me a 'may basket'! it's really cute and has little paper flowers all over it and had some tea and crackers and other goodies in it! soooo sweet of her!!!!

and i just read this in my aarp bulletin:
Believe it or not, some people swear they use potato peels to naturally darken their graying hair! The process: Boil peels in water for about 30 minutes, then strain and let cool. Rinse your hair with the potato peel water after each shampooing, and some say it could gradually darken gray hair.

Now I find this out???? I have had gray hair since high school
I wonder if the dirt from the potatoes is what covers the gray???

i heard potato peels are also supposed to be good for cuts and burns .. i haven't been able to make this work, maybe i'm doing it wrong ?? I bet it works on gray hair ... i wonder what actual color it makes your hair?
yer doin' it wrong! i don't know, maybe Summer does? although she (and i) swear by plantains, i'm not sure we have plaintains yet.

i also hear they are changing the dietary guidelines and in the near future, will NOT be telling us to enjoy as many milkshakes as we'd like. i won't deny they are wonderful comfort and i won't deny perhaps 3 since i started treatment but i'd have multiple shakes a day if i actually thought it might help or be a good idea.
thanks for the love, lovies. i love you back.
