ok here we go. the first two were taken on my phone, not sure why the color is so bad
first i put it into two braids just to get through the night before treatment but even just 'refreshing' them on weds morning made a lot more fall out so that night i put them into little ponytails, which i then braided on thursday morning and once i had the support of my sister, i cut them off one by one, as close to the scalp as i could get. i sobbed through the first two, whimpered through the third and probably the fourth, and then it got a little easier. here is THIS particular journey
after the hairdresser
*sigh*

the story of my scar: that scar was earned when i was just 2 years old and we lived in north vancouver b.c. and we had gone tobogganing that day. i was in front on a 4 person sled and as we were zooming down the hill my mother, who was 4th on the sled saw that some idiot had put a signpost in the middle of the hill! one of those metal ones with the jagged teeth that run up the front. she knocked the neighbor girl off the sled in time and pushed my sister out of the way but she couldn't reach me and i smacked right into the pole. hit an artery and everything and they dragged me back up the hill with my brother clamping down on my head and i went to the e.r. in an ambulance. almost 70 stitches and 49 years later, it's been mostly under hair the whole time but that's what it looks like now. kinda badass, no?

those big beautiful eyes get more attention without hair
luckily, you give good "scalp"
some people have lumpy bumpy heads that just dont look right without hair
yours is perfectly cute and with or without a scarf, you can pull it off nicely
but i loved that funky purple wig...that could be fun
you are so brave and open and wonderful, nancy
thank you for allowing us into your deepest thoughts and fears and allowing us to share our thoughts for you, with you
keep fighting the good fight and know we are right here next to you

i feel like i'm trying to decide who won the battle in that pic, Matt.
and i didn't even post the most traumatized one - with the braids done, but after i'd been crying on the phone already....
and Nikki, i have nooooooooo idea!
i only got as far as knowing i wasn't sending them anywhere! love and thanks to August West for a realllllly nice visit yesterday, forgot to pay you for the avocoados though, sorry!
