In order of importance:
NB had a great voice but I'm thinking the folk genre just isn't my thing.
I'm sick of saving my friends from creeps and having them save me from whatever dirty burner is in heat.

nb isn't folk. it's acoustic, folk influenced music.
here's some contemporary folk you might enjoy.
norman blake and tony rice:

here's some traditional scottish folk music.
sadly johnny cunningham (fiddle) is gone, but he was a personal friend and great guy. when he was alive he was one of the best fiddlers in the world. his brother phil is playing tin whistle and accordion.

eric bogle singing perhaps his most famous and oft covered song.

i kind of thought that if you were exposed to some genuine folk music from varied geographical locations, you might enjoy what you heard.

here's what happens when a brilliant songwriter, singer and player takes an american pop song and turns it on it's head.

Would have been cool to hear Tony Rice sing during a live performance.

You hangin' in okay? Caregiving can be a wild ride.
Posted 10 March 2013 - 03:11 AM
Hanging in there Sarah! The past two night were a bit easier....more sleep in those two nights than Sun thru Wed. Mom started on a new pain med which is providing relief so she at least sleeps for 4 hours at a time.

Had big plans for tonight, 2 competing sets of them even. But I'd just rather stay home and eat all night for some reason. I think it's the bad taste in my mouth from this burner party I got dragged to late night last night. Although it was at the Armory, which is a huge warehouse of a porn studio.

It's too fucking loud in this office, and I'm going to start cracking skulls.

Passive-aggressive bitch from hell neighbor who thinks I give a fuck about her opinion has picked the wrong fight. The gloves are off, honey.

I am listening to the archive of Sunday's brunch concert and telling people, "your lips are moving, but I can't hear what you are saying," the fuck off ending has thus far remained silent.
