There was new video surveillance device with all sorts of sensors set up on one of my well-travelled roads this morning, new this week. So of course my first instinct was that it must be an automated traffic-enforcement device so I went to check out how easy it would be to sabotage.   One thing I've learned is that if you make these nasty things too expensive for the city to maintain they tend to go away.  Well apparently it is a "video collection device" used for traffic studies, or so the label says. So I guess it can stay.
