direct tv has blocked our nbc affiliate so we have no superbowl if they dont work out negotiations. i am thinking of trying an antenna any suggestions?? we have a sharp flat screen. direct tv's customer service is useless...i miss my local channel

We we moved (many moons) went from Direct to Dish and am much happier with their service.

I don't think you can just hook an antenna up to a TV and pickup television anymore.

I believe all broadcasts now are sent digitally and you'll need a digital decoder connected to that antenna if you want to pickup on over the air signal these days.

I was at a clients house today and they had a flat screen, no cable, no dish and a "hdtv amplified antenna" attached and they got 15 channels. I will ask about the digital decoder at radio shack.

that hdtv amplified antenna probably has the decoder in it.

i am pleased to report that after 2 weeks my channel is back and i do not need an antenna after all.
