Officiant dilemma...

We have always wanted to elope and have an intimate ceremony with just the two of us. THen the family convinced us to have a wedding and we agreed. However, so many things came up with family and work that we postponed a few times.
A couple of weeks ago we decided that getting married at the Vibes was what we really wanted....
However it turns out that Universal Life ministers are not legally recognized in CT. Sigh. ..
SO. We are now thinking we may make a quick run to city hall in CT and get married and then have a wonderful intimate 'ceremony' at the Vibes. However, once we get married at city hall, we are already married and what is the point of having another ceremony at the Vibes?
Dunno. I need your input ladies - please!

You don't have a lot of time to get things ready though!
You should buy all of the tickets you can so that your family can pay you back!
You can have there ceremony on the beach if you really wanted.
It sounds like a really nice plan, really!
Keep us updated I wanna know how its moving along.

We already have our tickets and we aren't inviting the family... we just need to get the marriage certificate which we are prepared already to get.
So it's just the decision of whether to do it twice - City Hall and the Vibes. Or as Drop o Rain suggested Vibes then City Hall (I like that idea!)

No, i'm serious. It's kind of been like a soap opera.
Ooooo, will it be this month they get married? ooooo, maybe this month.
I want details dammit.
~I kid. It'll be beautiful no matter what.
I know you are! That's what makes me giggle. It surely has been a bit 'soap opera-ish'.
Well, we are certainly hoping that we can pull this off. We have to make sure JP's daughter is okay with it. Currently I am on the East Coast on a business trip he is on the West Coast on a business trip - so we will speak to her when we get home on Wed night. See how complicated this can be?
More to come this week....
Thanks for always giving advice, it's awesome!
BTW how is married life?

when Jay and Jenny (Phishfolk and Slave, Self Promoted) married in CT, Jason performed the ceremony and the JoP was there to sign off on it afterward, make it all CT-legal. so if you really want a friend to perform your ceremony, maybe the JoP would do the same for you?
yay, love

As Universal Life Minstries was not recognized in NYC at the time, I also became Ordained by Rose Ministries. I have seen you two together, the mutual love and respect is evident each time you look at one another.
Wow thanks for sharing this!
We are thrilled to bits that we are marrying where we met - the magical Vibes!

I've found the perfect partner. The yin to my yang, so to speak. I never thought I'd meet anyone as ideally compatible with me, and I daresay Karen thinks the same thing. What a treat to finalize our bond with our dear friends, and at the very place we met!
The only other thing I can say at the moment is YAY!!!!
