Wedding outside here....

This is where the ceremony will be. Outdoor, beautiful 8.5 acres botanical gardens. Selby Gardens

Cocktail hour on a patio near/under HUGE banyan trees!!!

I can barely find ANY pictures of the reception "Activity Center." I found this one online and this girl obviously brought in lots of decorations (ceiling, etc.)

Scroll down to "Michelle and Jeff Ngafoe" wedding and the box on the right hand side shows the reception hall decorated.

A tiny picture of a table looking out over the water from the reception hall.

Reception Hall - still not a good picture

You should probably to there and look at it...much better than looking at pictures. When is the wedding?

What's the date...or at least the month?
What are your colors?
Any theme?
What are your favorite flowers?

The reception hall looks like a blank canvas, so many options!! I am a big fan of really nice table settings.....color table cloths, mixed textures, charger plates etc. I think they bring a lot to a room. They can be pricey, but there's nothing like sitting down to dinner at a beautiful table setting!

and i am the opposite
i like clean light colored linens, very limited silverware/extra glasses/plates on the tables. i like simple. simple centerpieces, not much going on visually bc i feel like it can get cluttered and detract from the beautiful food :)

i like tea lights.. maybe fill some paper bags with sand and make little luminaries all around the room- or for something fancier, fill some shallow glass dishes with rocks and lights and scatter them around the room, on tables, etc.

you could also bring in a couple of tall, bushy plants to jazz up the space. this is in florida, right?? dig up a couple of palm trees for the occasion? (jk!!) :) if that is too pricey or inconvenient, you could get a balloon shop to make some really neat looking structures-- they will do a group of balloons with a couple swirly ones and some round ones and it can actually look pretty formal, surprisingly. i think with a big empty room you need some things with height to fill up the negative space... hang on, i'll find a pic of what i'm talking about...

I'm with you, Randy. I don't like "cluttered" tables.

Plain white Christmas lights look awesome!! The barn where we were married and had the reception was filled with them and it looked so nice.

Everyone is different. :)
color is really important to me. I am not a fan of white linens and white napkins. And lots of color works great with a blank canvas. Im not saying I think there needs to be tons of "stuff" on the table. Just lots of color and texture with the linens. :)

The only one I don't like of all of those is the first one with all the reds. Oof.

I think white linen tablecloths and then lightly colored napkins are pretty. Especially with my beach theme, I'd want to do that, with hydrangeas and colors of hydrangeas...purples, blues.

I want my wedding to look beachy...beachy = simple and light. :)

Like you said, different strokes for different folks.

yah, that one is very fall/wintery. Im not a fan of the red and the gold...but I like the depth of the color and the contrast of the table runner and the charger plates.....but i hate it when they fan the napkins like that.

i don't like the first two, but the rest are awesome!
when i hear "charger plates" i cringe... they remind me of old rich people... but i kinda like that one w/ the purple flowers!!

love the menus tucked into the napkins! so cute!

and i REALLY like that one w/ the blue tablecloth, purple napkins, and lack of excess plates :) :) :)

Yeah, menus tucked in is cute. :)

I'm still hoping for a clambake or something along those lines, so no menus needed.

my aunt's wedding was on the water she got big glass fish bowls and put some water and pretty rocks and shells in them (looked prettier than this reads). Simple, but it worked.
