I got a very nice set of speakers for my laptop for Christmas but even with the woofer the sound is a bit tinny. Is this possibly a sound card issue? Any suggestions?

Are the speakers powered? Does the sub have a power cord?

Is the master control volume on your OS levaled properly?

Speakers are powered. It sounds like I am in an arena.

A lot of laptops come w/ audio eq software pre-installed, you might want to mess w/ some of those settings if they're running.
