SLYGSAASISOI

If by served you mean noxious gas, then yes. In shock? NO. It's been one constant fart from the mass debator for months.

Just realize if not for him, youd be totally talking to urself most of the time. PF may be the only person who seriously cares to read all your politico crapola and try debating it.

Im not sire what my point is but, yeah...

Disagree dude.

I don't.

He seldom, if ever, hasn't taken what I've written and twisted it, whether by ignorance (I tend to doubt this) or intent, into saying something very different from what I wrote, and proceeded to argue against his twisted version of my words. He also has a tendency towards incivility and arrogance in his arguments. Then, often, when he gets called on it, he turns around and blames everyone else.

It's for those reasons that he's the only boardie with whom I will no longer engage in discussion or debate.

I only ever see him discuss highly charged topibs here, and he doesnt really seem to pile in on all the lovey dovey topics (like me) which seem trivial in comparison.

I think these facts give PF a bad rap.

It's not his choice of topics...it's not even his positions. It's how he argues them, and how he reacts to a disagreement with his opinions.

There are plenty of folks around here with whom I disagree on a lot of things. I consider some of them dear friends, in part because they're able to make their arguments in a civilized and respectful manner, and when we run into one another in the real world, what has happened here doesn't make me think less of them when I do.

The way I see it, and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone here, threads like Ann Romney's a classless twat, lyin Ryan, binders full of women, countless Ron Paul threads, etc... he has started have nothing to do with debating or even serious discussion and are pretty much nothing but trolling.

YMMV

I voted DEMOCRAT for the very first time in my life this year.

In the past, I've always voted for either Working Families party, or Green.

I didn't want to take any chances this year. I wanted my vote to be perfectly clear.

OWS resurfaces with Occupy Sandy hurricane relief efforts

Nearly one year after Occupy Wall Street's infamous eviction from Zuccotti Park, protesters have resurfaced and refocused their efforts on helping local victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Activists have started a website and a volunteer campaign dubbed Occupy Sandy, which organizes drop-off locations for supplies and meeting points for those who wish to volunteer at areas ravaged by the storm.

The newly-launched occupysandy.org is a coalition of groups, including Occupy Wall Street, 350.org, recovers.org and interoccupy.net. It is being updated regularly with a list of items that are needed, like batteries, blankets and cleaning supplies.

The coalition is asking volunteers to meet at several locations, including St. Jacobi Church in the Sunset Park area of Brooklyn, before transporting them to some of the city's hardest hit neighborhoods in New York and New Jersey.

The @OccupySandy Twitter account already has more than 5,000 followers and is regularly sending instant updates about hurricane relief efforts.

"#SandyAid - Sunset Park needs volunteers with laptops to help communications and dispatching," activists requested.

The account is also regularly re-tweeting relief requests from people in devastated areas.

FB to a friend that has been working at OccupyRockaway

Me: Been seeing a lot of messages around the web regarding Occupy folks feeding FEMA folks during the relief efforts. I realize it doesn't really matter. Out of curiosity though, can you confirm or deny this?

Her: Hahahahaha. No, but FEMA did ask me to make them copies of their own damn forms, so I would believe it.

Me: yeah, just seemed odd that a relief agency would be taking relief resources.
Hope all is well down there. Sent some $$ to XXXX to buy whatever is needed most for his trip down.

Her: Awesome. Everyone is taking relief resources; there's nothing else here to take! No stores, food, restaurants ... nothing but miles and miles of blackness and disruption.

I get your point. But if the caption of the picture I posted is true, and the folks who are supposed to be bringing relief aren't gettin' fed by their government employers...aren't showing up with enough food for themselves and the people they're supposed to be helping, and instead are consuming resources intended for the folks who've been suffering, something's very screwed up. IMO.

Got me wondering what the exact number of hungry, homeless people it takes for it to become acceptable to feed them out of the back of a truck without fear of being fined or arrested.

I'm not asking you to explain who you are. I'm wondering if you realize that your thoughts contain conflicting ideas.

And it isn't just you... it's a big mass of the population that blames Obama for the high unemployment numbers when that is convenient to the discussion, but when they want to berate someone personally they bring up if that person is unemployed... as if it that person's own fault. So which is to blame? -- obama or the unemployed person?

Or, when you want less government.... but then when the time comes when big government is needed, you complain that not enough was done. YOU are the reason it is this way. YOU.
