They just moved my job to fucking Danbury, at additional time and expense to me. Now they want me to bring food to some department pxtluck lunch. I told them what they could do with it.

Good thing these mf'ers haven't tried to hit me up for the secret Santa scheme.

Dave, could you pick me up a few of those grilled cheese from the place that had the truck at Vibes this year? i think they are pretty local to you. I'm by Port Authority.

Thanks.

I might not have a job after next week. They told us they'd be making staff reductions this month.

You should buy food for the potluck, but just sit at your desk with it and eat it yourself. :rolling:

"No."

The other six people who were moved up to fucking Danbury with me share my bad attitude. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who's cranky.

I always sign up for clean up duty for potlucks around here. The things at work that everyone is supposed to contribute money to piss me off.

We get a xmas party...it's tonight.

It's where the big wigs all pat themselves on the back..."look, look, look what we do for you heathens"

Brag about how well "we" did...then turn around and make up reasons to cut staff and not give raises...

I'll take po.t luck

I think it was Monday. :dunno:

The big freebie lunch sponsored by the president of my business line was yesterday, but I was out with a kidney stone.

So it goes ...

Yep. In my office the guy who makes the most money out of all of us engineers grabbed the soda option. We all gave him shit for being a lazy bastard. Regardless potluck in my office had a simple plan, if you didn't want to contribute something then your not a part of the potluck.

under our old director we used to have more potluck type stuff in my office .... now its either go out and do your own thing (ie a few co-workers getting pizza etc) or work picks up the tab and we have a "lunch"

one of my co-workers like to call it the "let them eat cake strategy" ie maybe the worker bees won't notice that we treat them like shit 99% of the time and never give them raises etc as long as we throw a $100 worth of pizza at them every few weeks (which I suppose is better than the just take it or leave it attitude)

last year the faculty/staff holiday party had mini eggrolls and spinach cheese artichoke dip and fancy little sandwhiches and fancy little cakes and lots of other hot foods I don't remember and booze!

This year we got hot chocolate and those crappy christmas cookies you buy in a tube and cut into cookies. :( Recession'd.
