One thing I never completely understood... The whole 1% paying 50% of the taxes.

I would think it have more to do with how much $ is being taxed. If 1% of the population makes 50% of the money I would think they would also be responsible for the 50% of the taxes collected. Am I missing something?

Apologies for any lack of knowledge on my part.

no syd, that seems fair to me.

trouble is, some of them want to receive 50% of all the income but only pay 1% of the taxes.

who cares what they want. they pay what the law requires. unfortunately, the law is pretty lenient in that tax bracket.

This is like when Herman Cain said that the protestors where just jealous that couldn't afford a Cadillac and wanted one without working for it.
It looks like the extent of research Herman and Adam did was look at a picture of a protest and saw a sign that said 'Tax the Rich'. It's not that
simple. What about the other issues?
There are a lot of American's that whine like that not connected to OWS.
In fact if you want to point out whiners I've been saying for years it's the
politicians that sound like typical Americans that will stand there whining
about they can't afford to get their rotten teeth fixed and then ask if you
want to see the videos from their Disneyland trip.
