Anyone with me on this? IMO festivals that have bigger late-night things going on do a really good job keeping oldies and youngns happy. If Vibes had bands like Lotus, Infected Mushroom and Shpongle (DJ set) playing latenight I think they could attract so many more people than they could by putting bands like Jane's Addiction on the bill. Not that I'm bashing Jane's Addiction, I'm just saying that I'd rather see them put the bands meant for younger people on late-night slots and keep oldies headlining.

Also Vibes is the biggest festival that I've been to that has so little going on latenight. I'd love to have a couple more local bands play latenight instead of when bands that everyone wants to see are on the main stage. I think local bands would be psyched to do it too, as they might get more people that still want to party.

As far as I remember Mountain Jam ends around 3AM like Vibes.

Lotus is a good pick for latenight. Shpongle I am only interested in live at this point. I've seen Simon DJ a lot and it's the same thing everytime.

From my perspective, you're wrong. A benchmark for me for whether music is "good" or not is whether I can enjoy it without being mind-altered. Listening to that, I can't grasp how anyone could enjoy it without having a headfull. And even then, for me, I think it would be kinda unnerving.

But that's just the opinion of one middle-age guy. Music is very subjective.

As far as Gregoir goes, he's a standup guy, just maybe a little sarcastic is all.

I bet that if you hang out, observe, and get the lay of the land, that you'll end up seeing this.

I think I saw something in P&R that suggested that WalMart treats its people pretty well.

Beats Antique played one of the most cosmically moving performances (thursday) of my entire life at Bear Creek. I mean like top 4. They've got my vote latenight at Vibes. or Sunset would be fine too.

I have no opinion on them honestly I like lots of electronic music but usually played by instruments. Hence why they should let Normal Instruments rage that shit. DJ's I like are too obscure for vibes. Chris Joss, Ursula 1000, hell even OL but vibes would never have any of those

I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to say I'm pumped about the late night this year! Late-late night every night, especially Papadosio until 6 in the morning. Definitely awesome bands playing late this year.
