[Lazy Lightning]

After spending 4+ hours at the consulate in Montreal this morning, I finally got my permanent resident visa approved!!!

It was a looooong day after a long process... Some people were taking up to an hour with their meeting... Made me kinda nervous... When I finally got my chance to go up there, I was all done in 5 minutes with hardly any questioning. Maybe mentioning that we had met one another at Vibes helped speed me thru?

Made friends with a really cool couple who reside in Sherbrooke QC (him) and Wilmington VT (her) as well - it was good to have some friendly folks to pass the hours with. We had some good chats and they gave me a big congratulatory hug once I was done with the interview!

So, now I get to see my ever-luvin' soulmate on Boxing Day - can't wait to roll up the driveway and throw myself into his arms!!!

my husband has been a resident alien for over 20 years. he just now is renewing his card (which he let expire ) and it's something ridiculous like $450 bucks plus he has to go to portland for a biometric scan so... start saving up for your renewal now because now i think it's like 9 or 10 years instead of the 18 he had with his first card.

good news: you never lose your resident alien status even if your card does expire... which was good news for us because he let his passport expire too. which i will not comment on.

I have a one year conditional and then it will be a permanent status. I intend to get my citizenship later on, byut that takes five years of permanent residency.

Stuff's pretty much all packed and ready for the movers tomorrow, and I picked up my visa today - getting exciting, altho I don't really have the time to slow down and experience that yet!

Tomorrow afternoon - a much deserved session at the spa with the Nekkid Ladies!

you made me go look at my alien card, there's no expiration date on mine. whew!! is his a temporary resident or permanent?
