Because of a proposed class action settlement, Ticketmaster is being forced to credit $1.50 per ticket order (up to 17 orders) to customers due to the fact that they profited off of "processing fees" without declaring as much.

credits are in the form of vouchers, which can be redeemed a maximum of two at a time.

i bet TB gets to increase all the fees going forward by $3.00 as well.

:coffee: what is the mechanism, I wonder; for determining who is eligible for what. like I've changed credit cards multiple times, and have moved... but pretty much have the same email address...

at any rate, I don't care.

The max payout of $26.50 will in now way be worth the hours of paperwork and hassle that I'm sure will be involved in attempting to collect this "windfall."

"This could end up costing Ticketmaster a hefty amount of money. If, in any given year over the four-year redemption period, less than $11.25 million is redeemed by customers, Ticketmaster is going to donate the remainder to charity."

45 million seems like a lot of money but i wonder what kind of profit they stand to make in four years...

i think it would be cool if we could all agree to not take the money and let it go to charity...provided that isn't b.s. either...

so then after this considerable loss of money they will what..? pass the loss onto us in greater fees that are "more transparent and less deceptive" wheter they disclose the fees properly or not we are still going to pay them if we want to see the shit...soooo this probably just going to make it worse int he long run...

...i hope these bastids go to hell and spend eternity getting offered a ticket to heaven that they can't afford.

Excuse me if I'm reading this wrong but there's no refund, just vouchers, right? :coffee:

From the article in the OP (emphasis added):
"According to court documents, the original claim, filed October 21, 2003, also implicates UPS' delivery price for expedited delivery of tickets as deceptive. Those part of the UPS subclass of the suit are entitled to an additional $5.00 credit per ticket. Both credits are in the form of vouchers, which can be redeemed a maximum of two at a time."

i've bought way more than 17 tickets through ticketbastard between 1999 and now. Also I didn't get this supposed email, so does that mean I'm just screwed either way?

Credits won't be issued prior to April 15, 2012 and should come within 30 days after Final Approval of the settlement which is currently scheduled for May 29, 2012. :dunno:
