Thanks Chip! (I don't know what the wrod is either, but I know what you mean  ) The flower shots were taken in my yard right after a short rain. I thought catching the droplets still on the leaves would makwe for some cool pics.

Loved going through your shots as well. Where were they taken?

Mostly Franconia NH, except the lake is Green River Reservoir in VT, and the Ocean is Hermit Island in Maine.

Beautiful scenery! Some of them remind me a bit of the Catskill area in NY (on of my favorite places on Earth). I was spacing out on the waterfall shots earlier.

I have only spent a small amount of time in the Catskill area, but I felt very at home. Franconia has a lot of great water oriented places, though swimming even in late summer is very cold.

It is called "The Basin" that and most of the small Waterfalls are part of a trail leading to and from the Basin, which is Right off Rt 93 in Franconia Notch, NH.

"The Basin
The beautiful waterfall at the Basin, has at its base, a granite pothole 20 feet in diameter. It is believed to have been eroded 15,000 years ago while the North American ice sheet was melting. It has been smoothed by small stones and sand whirled around by the Pemigewasset River. Below the Basin is a water-eroded rock formation called the Old Man's foot
"

The Bigger waterfalls and the narrow rock walls that have the walkways are "The Flume" which is South of the Basin, but just before Rt. 93 heads through the Notch.

"Flume Gorge
A natural chasm takes visitors from the Flume Visitor Center on wide gravel paths and wooden walkways through covered bridges, past waterfalls and through the 800-foot long gorge with its sheer 90-foot walls. Scenic pools, glacial boulders, and mountain views. Free 15-minute movie at the Information Center provides an introduction to Franconia Notch State Park.

The children and I stopped at the Basin on the way to see Clair and Tana last summer. It's awsome...cold, but very awsome. Kids had a blast in the more shallow low current pools.

Very cool pics, esp of that mushroom cdr. Love it when you get a brilliant color that jumps out from the rest of the landscape.

Nice 60 degree sunny day here in the foothills and I trooped up to the top of Green Mountain. Saw something similar in some electric blue berries on the way:
