woo yeah!! a year and some days lol!!
now a LOT of the emotional and personal growth is coming and at a rapid pace. feels like since i am doing the right things they are gonna change wether i am ready for them or not and i just have to hang on for the ride.
my Service has kicked up a notch (no becoming complacent on my part). My sponsors advice for me in this second year is to kick up my relationship with my higher power and explore it, push it to its boundaries.
Thank you guys and gals for ALL your kind words of Love and Support!! i can't wait to sees yous at Vibes this year!!

Sarah it was Incredible and unexpected to see you!! the side hugs made my day!! not to mention the show ,all the other boardie peeps ,and craziness of a 4th of july phish show at JB!! lol it was realloy good to feel your presence again.

424 days!! woo hooo! the emotional shift from all the behavoral change is weird. i do find myself asking "who am i?" i do have to keep in perspective that some of the feelings i am having are new because i never dealt with them before.
on some occasions i have taken the "high road" not because i'm better than anyone but because its the right thing to do and it left me feeling like shit and beat up.
Someone said "i'm proud of you ,you really hit a homerun by taking the high road."
my reply was "then why do i feel like shit and beat up? i didnt hit a hr i only got on base because i got hit by a pitch!"
Thusday (god willing) i will have Fourteen months to start my first day of my first ever Sober Vibes! Nice!!

this was only ,ONLY ,possible with the love and support of my family who kept the door open and the light on. i felt i had a safe place to come home to at night when i was done running around causing mischief. hehehe

I really can't tell you how proud/impressed I am of you. The difference from the last time I saw you (JB a few years ago) to this year JB and Vibes is amazing roo. I don't know if I would've had your strength and determination.
Keep coming back, it gets easier

441.. i am currently at a spiritual crossroads of sorts. i have a higher power and nothing but faith in it. some things recently came to my awareness that there really is an otherworld!! so if here is an otherworld ,the kind the native americans speak of ,than there must be a before and an afterlife.

74 days here and I have not felt this good in a very long itme. I really appreciated all of the support shown by the friends on this board. It was great talking and meeting you Speedway Boogie. Roo....keep it up. You are an inspiration!

Roo - How did you come to this recent awareness?
it was revealed to me. nothing more ,nothing less. i didnt take anything ,i didnt drink anything. and i didnt ask for it ,thats for sure but what happened and the best advice i was givin from direct native americans was its a blessing and to just accept it.. go with it. in the past four weeks three of my totem animals have been made "visible" to me. f'n awesome and seriously scary at the same time.. so awe i guess is the word.

i was for a few weeks FEARful to speak with my sponsor about this spiritual experience i had out of FEAR i might be rejected or maybe dismissed as crazy ,something along those lines. (f'n FEAR!!)
so anyway i finaly did just because he called me on my distance meanwhile im ready to burst with tears just because i dont know how to tell him so i just did. none of my FEARs came to fruition lol.. he said go with it. it may just be my path since i had been connected to native american cultures and beliefs since i was fourteen anyway.

40 days here, but most importantly I have today. I will say that days 10-13 at Vibes were the best of them yet, and I wouldn't be here-- working the steps with a sponsor, not suffering from the delusion that I could still somehow drink in moderation-- if it were not for the Wharf Rats. They showed me what no one had before-- that sobriety is a whole lot of freaking fun!

Well that has been the problem in the past...I either didn't have fun in sobriety out of fear of situations, or when I did have fun I would get triggered. Getting rid of the delusion that good times are some how better with drugs and alcohol is refreshing.

this friday i get to go back to the DWI trailer and speak in the friday night AA meeting. The chair is someone i was in the trailer with ,who we did not get along whatsoever yet in sobriety have worked through our own issues and have become friends enough that we talk daily on the phone! interesting

This thread rocks! Raging to The Machine was incredibly freeing. For the first half hour we seemed to be the only ones moving. Then, slowly, the ones watching on the sidelines with confused looks started joining in. Then everybody wanted to be near us. Or maybe it was the women we were with.
