when we had a cat, she would calmly sit on her pillow, on her side of the living room and tuck her head and purr in sleep. my dogs would sit on the couch, across from her, glaring. of course they would lose interest after about 20 minutes or so, but it was so funny. if i walked between them (purposely) they would crane their necks around to make sure she was still sleeping. free furry entertainment.

I had neighbors with a little terrier Chihuahua mix.
My dear departed Fluffy Floyd would hang out about 3 feet away from the end of the dog's rope and lie there on his belly, swishing his tail back and forth, getting great joy at the stupid creature jumping up and down and barking wildly right in front of him, but unable to get at him.
I always imagined that if a cat could giggle, FF would be giggling at the dumb dog.

outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.
