Me and Brett finally got around to registering for some gifts.

I'm amused at how many of the things we have registered for could potentially be used for devious purposes.... not that we will use them for such  of course not.

I count at least 3 that likely will be used for deviousness, and I'm not including the air mattress, since once we're married sex won't be devious anymore.

Try and guess what the heck I'm talking about. :)

also while I'm talking about registries...how do you inform guests of the registry? We did a save the date thing through evite, so would it be totally rude to send out a mass email to everyone on the evite saying something like "A few guests have asked if we are registered anywhere, so we have registered for gifts at *Webaddress*"

Is that tacky?

the quick pump aye...what deviousness could be done with that?

Good idea with the mirror, and the video camera was on my list. :)

no idea; I just thought the quick pump and suction mirror sounded the most dirty and of course a video camera makes dirty things, even dirtier

Kitchen gardner
Utensils
Laser printer

:)

And I don't think it's tacky to send out a note saying 'some folks have asked...'
I think your guests would appreciate that because then they know what you want!

no one has gotten the last thing I was thinking of yet. :) (the first two were the video camera and the aero garden)

I think it's a little tacky to send out an email. While I think it's helpful to know where you're registered it's kind of like asking for gifts, ya know? Is anyone throwing you a shower? That's typically where guests learn of where you're registered; it's up to the person sending the invites out to let everyone know where you're registered. Otherwise people can ask you directly or ask a family member who might know. Just my opinion.

Yeah, thing is- I'm not having a bridal shower, and no one from my family is coming to the wedding. So all those things don't work for me :)

i don't understand the rules myself, but i do know that some people take them to heart, and understand wanting to be respectful of the feelings of others.

could someone else send the email? a good friend, his mom or sister, that sort of thing?

when you did your e-vites you got a website for responses, right? how about mentioning it there? a simple "we're registered at __________" would work.

well his mom and sister don't know anyone else coming to the wedding (besides themselves and his dad/grandma) cause most people coming are our friends from the east coast, and they live out in Indiana and St. Louis.

Gosh darnit, who knew having no friends or family would be such an issue! I think I'm just going to be tacky and send out the email, cause that's how I roll.

I wouldn't worry too much about it then. Especially if they're your friends and are your age group. If it was strictly older people I might worry more about appearing tacky.:lol:

oh yeah the only 'older' people are going to be his parents, his grandmother, and my old college adviser + her husband- who is one of the people who asked if i was registered.
