I can't believe it is July already and I have not been to the beach yet!!! I am usually in the water already by the end of May...not for long, but just to get in. My beach of choice is Horseneck down in Westport MA!!!
No doubt...Horsneck is also my favorite.

What city/town do you live in?? I live in New Bedford. I was at Horseneck on Sat and Sunday!!
My buddy used to own a little hot dog "diner" down there Charlies, I think it was on one of the main streets (Acushnett maybe?) any idea if it's still there?
Ack now that I think about it, I'm talking 25-30 years ago so probably not

isn't ALL the water up here freezing?
ABOVE the Cape (Southshore area) it does always seem to be cold.
BELOW the Cape, it is usually warm by mid-June. I am usually in by end of May until first weekend in October. It just is a little colder than usual this year!!

I remember Charlie's very well, I used to go quite often. And you are correct...Acushnet Ave.
It was not too far from a bar called "The Bullpen." There is a Grateful Dead cover band named "Peary Baker" that has been playing there every Tuesday for the past 23 or 24 years. Have you ever gone to any of their shows??

Hell I'm pretty wide open, except w/e of Sept 3-5 or so.
I was considering doing something the weekend of that Calling Planet Earth Festival, but then I saw the prices... wowza... 225 for the weekend? ouch.
But can't you get a day pass? Ryan is playing. Could do a day show, then boardie crash at your place.
