We don’t want to sound bitter or nothing, but gee, it sure would have been nice to have been a child prodigy. Now, don’t get us wrong, we were plenty good at plenty of things back when we were twelve—for the record, we will fuck your shit up in tether-ball—but were good at the sort of things you’re supposed to be good at twelve. Not like, say, calculus. Or thoracic surgery. Or bluegrass mandolin, which would be Sierra Hull’s area of expertise, and the thing that got her touring when she was barely double-digits. Now, this wundercutie is at Berklee, and courtesy of them, will be mandolin-in’ gratis at Kendall.

As a transplant from Boston, teenager Ren MacCormack (Kenny Wormald) gets a big dose of culture shock when he moves to a small Southern town called Bomont. Boston-based indie film casting for BACKGROUND EXTRAS -- AGE 18+


Shooting dates are Monday and Tuesday, November 21 and 22.

Both sessions are being filmed in the afternoon,

Panera Cares cafe is now officially open in Boston

The Panera Bread Foundation said its Panera Cares cafe in Boston is now officially open.

A recent Globe story described how this cafe differs from most others in a chain of more than 1,600 restaurants: “There is no cash register at the Panera cafe near Government Center in Boston. There are no prices either — just suggested donations and bins to leave money, if you can afford to.”

At the cafe at 3 Center Plaza, the idea is to provide a place where everyone can eat with dignity, regardless of their ability to pay.

In a statement, Ron Shaich, founder, chairman, and co-chief executive of Panera Bread, said: “This community cafe is a gift to the community that was funded by Panera. All of the build-out costs – nearly $1 million – were covered by the company. Panera donated the cafe to the Panera Bread Foundation and will operate it on behalf of the foundation. Now that the site is open, it’s up to the community to sustain it. All consumers have to do is cover its direct operating costs. They do so by donating for their meals and leaving a little bit more if they’re able to help cover the costs of the meals of customers who cannot contribute. This is a pay-it-forward model and will only work if the community supports it and one another.”

We are looking for a Caucasian family with at least three children.

If cast the commercial shoots one day between May 21st and May 24th and will pay $2250 for the whole family. 

Interviews will take place one afternoon the week of May 13th.
