He was smart, he played bubble gum music to get all the young girls going and making him millions... have never saw him live but Tabbooma's brother did and he said all he played was Blues tunes and was really good and the kid can play guitar.. Also, he was born and raised here, Tabbooma would not mind hearing him play some tunes on Sunday

I once worked lawn patrol at Mayer show in Htfd.... It was the largest teen makeout fest I'd ever been to.

This does not discount the talent of the aforementioned - but having to tell 15 year old girls that getting fingerbanged in the middle of a populated lawn in hartford connecticut was a bit offputting.

John Mayer has great guitar chops. The guy is a killer player. I watched him on the Crossroads fest in 2005? and he KILLED it. His original tunes...frankly, suck. But his playing ability and the blues selections he gravitates toward are win.

As long as nothing worthwhile is bumped from the lineup for his set, I have no problem with him appearing on the Vibes lineup.

They should have John Mayer and Ryan Montbleau on the same day, with discounted Jello shots.

It will be like shooting fish in a barrel.

This. If they can promise to get him not to do his own material, I will sign this thread. :funny1:

Saw him open for Phil and Friends in '06. Good stuff, but I've never seen so many teeny boppers swooning and taking pictures. They all filed out of the building before Phil came on.
