Ozzy...whatever.
But, South Pacific?
There is nothing like a dame!
Nothing in the world!
There is nothing I can name that is anything like a dame!

as long as it isn't russell again, fine with me. i watched the interview with his nephew on cbs.com. favorite line was something along the lines of: i think i'll play the game totally differently from my uncle because, well, i'm a nice person.

I forgot what a great competitor Ozzie is. Coach says the Dragon Slayer is back... but then he says he's Coach 3.0
That Hantz kid and his drooling over the woman who he seems to blaming for mesmerizing him .... let's say he didn't make a good impression on me.
Ivy League dork lives to see another day even though the other one on the block is a gorgeous woman! Cochran! Cochran!

The English professor with the crazy eyes is going to be interesting to watch. I pegged her for a nut bar as soon as I saw her. Coach is defintiely playing it down, but how long can he deny his nature? We'll see.
I love Cochrane. Survivor nerd gets his shot. If he can make himself useful and, more importantly, get into an alliance, he can go far. He's in danger now. I can see him finding his groove.
I can also see him falling on his pasty white ass.
Either way, should be fun!

i already don't like that sneaky woman with the dagger-eyes who told Coach and Ozzy that they were "temporary players".
Harvard boy is already getting on my nerves with his paranoia...
i liked Dawn, the older woman who started crying on Day 1 (despite her obvious control issues!)... hope she pulls it together and fast.
Gregoir, i am rootin for Papa Bear for you!!

Harvard kid flipped from dorky/funny to paranoid and annoying really fast, huh? i'm not a fan of that kind of insecurity, but if he is able to help the team with puzzles (first challenge notwithstanding) he may prove himself enough of an asset to stay for a while.
and i love Papa Bear! Gregoir, we have similar taste in men...who knew?
lil' Hantz is downright creepy. did he really liken Semhar to Delilah?

I didn't like how lil Hantz was constantly bashing Russel. And I don't even like Russel. But dude the only reason they let you on the show is because you are related to him so maybe you shouldn't constantly bad mouth him.
So i finally dvr'd this last night. LilHantz will turn into Russell as the game goes on, no doubt. Coach was way to tame, where's the dragon slayer? i like the cast better than other years though

yeah it seems like a good group. I find it interesting that they seem to do a way better job overall casting The Amazing Race then they do Survivor.

I think that is the 'bathing suit' factor on survivor - for the most part, you gotta be 'hot' to get on the show. While I don't watch amazing Race, I am assuming that they generally wear clothes

I think Little Hantz might be making a mistake by trying to keep his identity hidden though. 40 days without taking your shirt off is gonna be tough and you know Probst is gonna pounce on that sooner than later. Of course, he could just wait a while before telling everyone so they have a chance to get to know him for who he is, not judge him based on who his uncle is. Don't know how that's gonna play out. I gess time will tell.

papa bear sort of jumped the shark for me last night, too. dawn played great at the challenge. i think she got over what ever issues she was suffering from in the first episode.
it'll be interesting to see if the christine and coach feud escalates any more.

Jeff Probst on episode 3 of 'Survivor: South Pacific'
by Dalton Ross
Each week, host Jeff Probst answers a few questions about the most recent episode of Survivor: South Pacific.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Every season when I talk to the contestants before the game starts they go on about all these things that they are not going to reveal to the other players. And then they get out there and can’t help themselves. The latest example was Brandon telling his entire tribe about being Russell’s nephew, which he promised he wouldn’t do. Why can’t these people zip their lips? Is it a lack of discipline? And seeing as how people seem to have such a hard time keeping secrets about themselves, do you think contestants are better off just telling the truth from the get-go as opposed to having to come clean or get caught in a lie later?
JEFF PROBST: I think the answer to this question is the reason reality works in general – people want to talk about themselves. Whenever this topic comes up in casting and someone says “I’m not gonna tell anybody I’m a doctor,” I immediately say, “You won’t be able to help yourself.” People just want to talk and they want to share who they are and their accomplishments. In Brandon’s case, the guy is just so conflicted he doesn’t know what to do and as a result he’s reacting rather than acting and everybody sees it. It’s killing his game right now but it’s making him a candidate to take to the end because I don’t think he can win…at this point, anyway.
EW: Semhar is the first person to exit the game, as you predicted before the season started. (Good call!) So now I’m going to put you on the spot: Which contestant from which season were you most sorry to see go out first? (My vote goes to Francesca from Redemption Island.)
JP: Hmm good question.. and good guess as to my answer, but you’re wrong! I did like Francesca and would actually like to see her back on the show, but my biggest disappointment was seeing Jessica DeBen from Survivor: Fiji being voted off first. I really liked her style. She’s attractive, she seemed to have a good sense of herself. Then again, maybe it was better for her that she was voted off. Maybe she was too normal.
EW: Do you ever want to exercise any sort of veto power over self-appointed nicknames? For example, I have to imagine you felt a tad awkward having to say, “Papa Bear, the tribe has spoken.”
JP: Dalton, you’re a funny dude and pretty aware. I think Papa Bear was the toughest of all the nicknames we’ve had on the show. Something about it just felt slightly wrong, or like I was saying something that was not quite appropriate for Survivor. Ask me this question at the end of next season, you may get a different answer.
EW: Don’t you dare go anywhere until you tease us up good for next week!
JP: We revisit a classic challenge and at least one Survivor has a chance to break a record set years ago by Rupert “America’s Choice” Boneham.
