Our first ferret Nookie was never caged. We had just moved into our home of eight years, a 90 year old tenement in Fall River MA. These homes had a lot of built in cabinets throughout. While still in the unpacking stage I searched for him before going to work and could not find him. When I got home from work I started calling him frantically. When it got silent I could hear scratching from a built in cabinet in the living room which I had searched earlier. I opened the drawerrs and still nothing so I pulled out the drawers and there he was at the bottom of the unit under the drawers where he had crawled and gone to sleep. This same ferret a couple of years earlier, had pushed out a screen while my wife was vacuming and disappeared for the day sending us into panic until the landscaper brought him to the door six hours later.:lol:
