All was well (kept fairly clean, TP adequately stocked, large fan to circulate humid air) except for the fact that there were only 4 toilets for the women, since the room with 5 or 6 was given over to the men this year.
Many times I passed the men's room to see it practically empty, only to find a line in the women's room.
In past years the men were on the far side and the women were on the near side, and that seemed to work quite well for everyone.
Why was it changed this year? :dunno:

i have a suggestion for next year
can we have a small trash can in the shower areas?
people who used it before me left a HUGE amount of empty bottles and soap and gross stuff in the shower
i used paper towels and picked them up and disposed of them but took time that i could have been showering and getting done for those behind me in line
just a small thing that would make a difference, is all

i do, however, have a LARGER issue
can we PLEASE have a staff person at the entry to the showers from 2 pm on or whenever they become pay showers?
and by entry, i mean the entrance to the actual room where the showers are, not the entrance to the gym...

i know that as a paid vip attendee i have the "right" to go to the front of the line but i will tell you what, when i exercised that right on saturday, i had a couple C bombs levied at me even though i was really nice and apologetic :undecided:
made me feel like crap, even though i paid a lot for my ticket in order to have that luxury...

or maybe have one of the shower rooms for *just* VIP? :dunno:

all in all, everything was good all weekend long but that was just one wrinkle that i would love see get addressed

thank you to the staff all weekend, they were lovely and pleasant and i am glad they had a chance to stop by after their shifts for some love from the jug :v:

you might want to tigthen up the whole non vip process at the showers
when i went over on Sunday, to see what time they closed i was told they were VIP only until 1:00, and then saw the same person take cash from a Non VIP for the showers. This was around 10:00 i figure.
it wasn't really a problem since they showers were still very empty, but how do you keep track of that cash ?

i do have a funny story or 2 to add.

at one point there was a rather large older man, nekid, drying himself off in changing area of the mens showers on the entrance side. basially right in front of the open door the womens and little girls had to walk past.
not sure if he forgot, or just didn't care.

another time, a women walks out of a toilet stall in the same shower area, i go to ask her if she knew and she was in the mens room "yeah, i know this was men's, but i just had to go" :clapping:

:lmao:

So hot in there by the time you finished showering and dressed you
already needed another shower. a couple of fans in the lockers rooms wouldve done wonders.
stalls unbearably hot ... Better than the porta pottys though ,
better off in the AC ones in the vip tent area.

worth $5 a poop, maybe.

worth $200+... to be decided.

It would have been nice if they had the A/C on in the locker rooms. You were sweating again 30 seconds after the shower ended. And why is the door to the locker room open when there are women and girls walking by?

At one point the line in the ladies room was so long a bunch of them just decided to commandeer the men's room.

I had no issues.

I do think it would be good if the showers were switched back the way they were.

I did also think it was funny that the ladies had to walk by while we were changing but hey....if ya want a look have at it.:funny1:

I showered at 6am. No lines, no mess, no naked men but still a little toasty without fans or ac. It was just hot everywhere.
I was talking to handy about how the ability to bump others after 2pm would be all on the individual to request it from other attendees. There was no way I would do that as I could imagine being treated like tyedyedee was. It should either be supported by staff, large signs or not really offered as a VIP "perk" IMO.

I think it was silly that one couldn't pay the $5 during "VIP time" even when there was no line whatsoever.

I never understood the whole VIP thing at Vibes anyways. I never wanted to be caged in a gate watching the music. I'd rather be out there on the field where all the shakin' is going on.

Lot more to VIP than the tent, the platform was pretty sweet this year with great sight lines.. VIP baths should be for VIP only, this letting in after 2 is bull...

If they're not being utilized by VIP and regular folks are willing to pony up the $5 for the use of them, why not make a few bucks and provide a welcome service to your patrons? Seems like a win-win to me. I used them every day (non VIP).

peace!

Of course, being on the boards here I understand that VIP have preference after 2. Regular attendees can't be blamed for not being hip to that, does everyone really read the program? And was that in there? I can see how that could be uncomfortable for a VIP. Nothing a big sign at the entrance couldn't fix.

The after 2 thing for non VIP I think was crapola! In the past years there was a shower truck in Family camp. The neares non VIP Shower was on the other side of the field behind the main stage. WTF? Even if we wanted to wait till 2pm it was like 105 degrees out. So, we take a shower and walk out of the shower with the same amount of sweat on us as when wee entered? Obviously the vibes were not thinking of all the folks in Family Camp. A shower truck there woulda solved everything. :bang:
We ended up going to a friends in Fairfield on Friday night and getting a clean shower an A/C room and a shower in the morning. It was so freaking hot I could barely stand it.

They do need better sinage at the vip showers.

Dee got verbally abused by some folks but those poor girls at the door were constantly being yelled at by people.

Over the years i have made friends with a few of them and they have been well fed and taken care of by camp velcro-donkey-dawgz.

I did get to meet one of the guys keeping everything clean in there and we even treated him to breakfast and drinks this year.

They would agree.....vibes needs to inform the nonvip folks so they dont get verbally abused all weekend long.

i just wish they were open earlier in the morning when i wouldnt make it to the vip area flushie trailer :undecided:
(thats why i try to sleep until they are open  )

i try and bring hurricanes, half-frozen waters or other snacks to the ladies staffing the door, thoughout the weekend
they usually end up hanging out at velcro after their shifts are over cuz i am not the only velcronian who does that :pimp:

but she wasnt receptive at all to anything i said
but she was wearing makeup and had a curling iron sticking out of her bag so i am thinking perhaps she got dragged to vibes unwillingly and wasnt happy about it and was taking it out on everyone she came in contact with? :dunno:

You were truly a hero for cleaning that stall Dee. I didn't think of picking up the stuff with a paper towel. While I was showering, I was mortified thinking that the next person was gonna think I left it there. I was thinking about that as I was trying my damnedest NOT to touch ANYTHING. Then it was you and and mortified turned into horrified when I saw you were next :(Flip flops and latex gloves are musts for the showers, for sure

yup
shower flip flops are a must and now i pack a latex glove (took some from work) for each day and a plastic shopping bag to put the trash in
i just dont get why people leave their shit in there
is it so hard to bring out what you brought in? :dunno:

another trick is to pack tablecloth weights in your bath bag in case you have a blowy shower curtain
there is nothing worse that a wet shower curtain touching you when you are showering ::shudders::
i feel so strongly about this that when i am looking at renting a hotel room, a curved shower rod is a HUGE selling point for me!

anyhow...i hope vibes makes sure there are trash cans in the shower area this year
of course, people will probably be lazy and still not clean up after themselves, but i have hope...

I remember showering during my only time for Vibes in bridgeport, '07.. and don't think it was a bad experience.. i think it was prison style.. no curtains or walls... i wear a bathing suit.. around my friends, i am not shy.. showering with strangers creeps me out
