Dear Ken,

Tabbooma's big day for music and reflecting about what just went down over the last 4 days is always Sunday, he kicks back in a chair in the VIP tent and just takes it all in. The question is; Why would the VIP tent staff start tearing down all the chairs and close the AC baths at 7:15PM on Sunday, does the tent close at at 7:00PM? JB was still playing at 8:15PM and by the way that Sunday lineup was sick.. good to hear some dead tunes on Sunday and John Butler Trio.. Whoa, saw them before and man they did not let down, best show of the weekend for Tabbooma.. Could of been a bit nicer if his chair was still there and not stacked in a pile when he returned from the locked bathroom. So Ken would you please tell your crew not to break down stuff until the fest is actually over. Oh and by the way Tabbooma had an awesome time!

Thanks, Tabbooma

since my only real problem was the lack of xx vip t-shirts ( 24 for all of VIP ?) i'd say :clapping::clapping:
:clapping:.

i can't really blame TP for the over zealous red shirt securty at the VIP tent - as soon as i found someone on the TP staff that would listen we sorted it all out. red shirts should have given me that option, or called the hot line, VIP TP staff etc. Guilty until proven innocenet :dunno:. -

where do i send my $$ for 2012
(can we request shirt sizes with our VIP order so TP can get a better idea of what they will need ?)

dear ken,
had a wonderful time!! my only complaint, (and it's a serious problem!) is why can't you guys learn to speed up the intake? i have never waited as long as i did this year in bridgeport. mariaville -yes, but not bridgeport! from the time i hit the end of the line til the time i got to my camp was 5 hours and 20 minutes! 5 hours and 20 minutes!? what the hell? i drive an air-cooled vw bus, and it was not liking that traffic! i hate to go on about this, but this is not the first time you have put on a show. you sell a certain amout of tickets, so you should have a certain amount of people for bracelets, check-in, etc. it doesn't seem like rocket science.

overall, though, a job well done, and my thanks for all the good stuff that outweighed my horrendous wait. see ya next year! thanks again!

Im 100% with Joecool on this one!!

We took the 6 am ferry from LI to B'port. The ferry is literally like 6 blocks from the venue. We got off the ferry around 7:20. We got into camp at, ready for this...fuckin 12:15. :bang:

How could this even be possible? :dunno:

The water bottle dump-out policy was ridiculous & unsafe in 105 degree heat & blaring sun. Especially when the water fill-up station was non-existent along the shore & at the Green Vibes stage.:bang:

It was over a 1/4 mile from gen camping to a water refill spot. Lots of folks were hospitalized for dehydration. (Possibly because their water was taken from them?) This is seriously not a kosher policy when considering public safety!!!:cry1:

If you want to make this a policy again for next year please add some potable water fill-up camels @ the gates where we are forced to dump-out our desperately needed hydration!

That being said, thanks for bringing back the long missed mist tent!!!!:pimp:

^^^
This
The water policy was inhumane as far as I'm concerned. If this policy was driven by profit, it is also unforgivable. I have no complaints about not having alcohol, but not to be able to bring water, even in the general area??? What drives this type of policy?
Perhaps some of the profits can go towards get well cards for the people who made a trip to the hospital.

Oh, and the checkin process is a disaster. What percentage of cars have violations, even small one like a jar of mustard? 10%?, 50%?, 99%? Perhaps a random check, related to the amount of vehicles that fail would be a somewhat better solution.

Water bottles had to be "factory sealed' in order for them to let you through.

The wait to get in was a mess because their internet went out right before gates were supposed to open, rendering it impossible to scan tickets for a while.

5 1/2 hours for us. Got there at 8:30 and parked at 2pm. Our Canadian neighbours, over 6 hours.

At the wristband check-in, it took us over two hours in the field. We were routed to the right, did a huge loop around then grabbed the worst line where two lines merged into one. It was soooo frustrating seeing everyone beside us pass us by.

On a good note, the vehicle search took about a minute.

My ONLY complaint was where we got parked.

Got in wristband lot at 11 were through there in a not unreasonable time and through security pretty effortlessly.

But once in we were directed to lot DOUBLE F. So it seemed that the lots were filled in by the Barnum statue/baseball fields weren't all that filled by the time we were in. Yet they were parking us back to front, ensuring that the people coming in later than us were getting better camping closer to the concert fields.

I got over it quick enough with all the great things over the weekend (and the fact that I will be begging for a boardie pass next year ) but i did hear a lot of people camped out by me who did not want to let that fact drop.

Thanks to all, can't wait till next year!

In my experience, you could bring "camel" backpacks, sealed and unsealed water bottles from family/boardie/vip camping into the concert area, but if you lived in General camping the security coming into the concert area was WAY tighter. They even made me empty my pockets and pat me down! Just another reason I was glad I was in Family camping this weekend.

I was able to bring in water, no problem. I had an open bottle and one guy said to take a chug, which I did. He said if it was anything but water I couldn't do that (sounds like a challenge LOL...but he is right)

It actually took us almost 5 hours to get in; I had posted 3 but when we thought back it was almost 5 hours.

KUDOS to those taking care of the bathrooms....the only time I went into one without TP or that was a mess was on Thursday (apparently there were wayyyy more people there on Thursday than they thought. )

The shuttle worked pretty well, except on Thursday. If all hotels are sold out on Thursday, they should know there would be a lot of people taking the shuttles. We waited an hour and a half the first day for a shuttle which really sucked because we were trying to see the only band we could on Thursday (Dark Star) and missed the first set!

I just want to know why I showed up on time not early , and we got parked right next to the beachhouse and the VERY END west camping !!! People showing up later were getting parked closer and closer as the day went on . I know they were trying to back fill the lot but come on why penalize us for showing up on time as asked . I didnt take the day off to show up later to a festival , it just seemed alittle odd . :coffee:

We got there at 7:30am on Thursday and didn't get to our spot until 12:15pm...it takes awhile, but I will have to agree the water thing was way out of hand...I had a security guard not let me bring my water back to boardie camping through the checkpoint, why couldn't you bring water back to your camp if it was opened. When I protested he pulled me aside and said he was going to arrest me for inciting a riot, even though I never even raised my voice...then a minute later he pulls out some money and hands me $2 and actually pushed me through the line....it was very weird..:bang:

Ken & Terrapin presents are now just another greedy freaking company trying to squeeze every cent out all of us music lovers. You Suck. Period.

Beer Is understandable vendors pay top dollar to be their, but to hold people in concert field with no free water and keep saying STAY HYDRATED, IS just horrible and uncaring. before everyone jumps down my throat, that was my 10th vibes, and it was never that hard to have a jug of water. I hope you made your money, this will be my last terrapin event, I know when Ken talks nothing but lies spew from between his greedy lips:carla:

What about the NO FESTI TAXI? I know most people were close enough to walk to stage from this board, but the taxi's help the people that are close to stage and maybe slow to get around for whatever reason, lets just say injured. They also help the East people go see the West people and vice versa. Maybe there were shuttles but the call to festi and then door to door service was a good thing in years past.
The pour out water for profit was a bit greedy and with the heat over 100 seemed a bit over-zealous. Aren't we supposed to be conserving water? So being able to bring a bottle thats not plastic (but not glass either) be better for the environment? Sorta like not having cars idle by the sound while coming in Thursday for 5 hours? Especially them air cooled VWs - yikes!
I certainly had fun and I'm simply "just sayin'". Call it constructive critisism. (if I could spell):gop:

:cry1: They didnt even look in our cooler, or any of our bags, or in the console, this year............went straight for the food supply, and those frig's went & found my jar of Vodka sauce. I didnt even realize....ummmm duh, glass!!!:dunno: I had to transfer it to a tupperware.........or we'd be eating dry pasta one nite..........:undecided: The guy was really proud of himself, like he just uncovered a "key" or something!!! Missed those pickled peppers , though!!!:boogie: Just slipped my mind, again......the glass thing.

Two guys next to us got hauled away Sun morning by LEO!! They musta been watchin them for awhile, as they swooped in, undercover, quick and hard!!!:spank: These guys never saw them coming!!! It took me awhile to figure out what was unfolding.....I think they had at first befriended them, and were just waiting for the right time to pounce!! They ripped that damn car apart, so I assume they were looking for something specific, and knowing it was in there somewhere. And, I think they found it.........

We thought it best just not to make eye contact, and let them do their jobs.........over there, & away from us!!!!

when I was working the gate at All Good, one carload had to empty all their alcohol into a single beach bucket, whereupon the car-ful of people got crosseyed before they got around to parking their RV.

drunken swingin' machinery is loose, BUT HEY! NO GLASS!

I wonder if anybody realizes that when they enter a fest or concert lot, they are entering a temporary police state. these police states all have the same basic rules but it seems that even seasoned veterans think they're going to cruise through after buying out the beer store.

beer balls, mini kegs, hell- plastic bottled beers - tis so simple.

Hi All,

What a great Vibes!! Tabbooma sorry about the AC flushies they actually crapped out about 7pm on Sunday night. No time to get someone out there to fix them before the end of the show. So we just locked them up - guess we should have put up an out of order sign. Glad they made it through the weekend the weather was tough on them - the artist bathroom had to be completely replaced on Friday night! Chairs well I was in VIP tent close to the end of the night and saw plenty of chairs still up the ones at the back of the tent were starting to be folded up, but still looked like plenty of chairs for everyone. We had a ton of seats in that area this year as we wanted everyone to be able to sit down when they wanted to.
Feck I think that's a great idea about the t-shirts! We should definitely do that w the VIP ticket orders next year.
We did have a bit of a hiccup on the in this year which made for some long waits for some folks - it was a bummer and once it was ironed out there were no more waits.
Water well that's not my area but I'm saddened to hear anyone was not allowed to bring water from one area to another - that's just not right and HQ will certainly get to the bottom of this. I know beer this was the case but never heard a directive to include water in this. Certainly VIP you are not allowed to do that for obvious reasons.
I'm tired love to you all!

The green stage check point was way out of hand. On Saturday night coming back through from the stage after Janes, it was a mad dash as per usual. The line farthest left was where we tried squeezing in, only to have a security guy tell us to go back and go around to the other lanes?

So, I turned around adn told everyone behind me that they weren't letting us through that line. Although the security guy could have stood at the front of the gate and directed people to the right. So, he told me "this lane is for "camping pass holders only."

I'm like, dude, I'm staff and the people Im with are camping.

To which he replied, "If you don't like the way we are doing it, don't come to the show."
Really? Really?

Rude. Disorganized and overly zealous that group was. I implore Ken and group to perhaps run a new security RFP.

cdrhead and I had nothing on us trying to get through the green vibes checkpoint during Furthur and despite behaving normally, he was ordered (not asked) to empty his pockets, and the same guard started rummaging through and trying to remove my backpack from my wheelchair without permission... the bag contained my urinal and medical gloves. I didn't appreciate being treated like a criminal. That said, that was my only security issue the entire time.

Yeah I found the yellow shirt security to be quite a-holes most of the time but the red shirt security were pretty helpful and informative (mostly down to earth people). The yellow shirts were at Watkins Glen as well I believe and were just as bad there. Someone needs to take them down a notch, and remind them we are paying customers. If it wasn't for us, they wouldn't be working. Plain and simple. I've also worked plenty of festivals, so there is no excuse for most of their behavior throughout the weekend. Just that typical power trip going to their heads. IMHO

my only problem was with the red shirts inthe VIP tent.
refused to let me speak to any non security staff, grabbed me by both strings on my laminate, way too close to my chin.
no rope burns , but only because i kept moving as they kept pulling.
i think they call that assault in some states.
as much as i tried to work with them, they didn't want any part of it or me.

the yellow shirts doing VIP searches were kind and friendly all weekeknd, even at 103 in the shade

How about a fan or two in the VIP tent, just enough to get some air circulating in there.
Also any way to deal with the flies in the vip tent/area as well. My friends and I got all bite up by them.
Besides a little confusion trying to get in on thursday morning, and the whole water ordeal, everything else seemed to go smoothly.
This was my first time going as VIP, have been attending for 10yrs now, and well I def. enjoyed the VIP experience.
Thanks for a wonderful time

as much as i tried to work with them, they didn't want any part of it or me.

the yellow shirts doing VIP searches were kind and friendly all weekeknd, even at 103 in the shade

Musta been saving their dickbags for vip I guess (the reds)

Thank you so much for responding so quickly. Please note Tabbooma had a great time in the tent, just found it funny watching all these people come back to where their chair was but it was folded up including Tabbooma's.. Anycase, your people did a great job! and made Tabbooma feel very welcomed in the tent. Tabbooma will definitely be back next year! Thanks again
