If you have the hysteroscopy and d&c Wednesday I would say it is unlikely you will even be feeling well enough to go to Wormtown. :( Plus the risk of infection because of the d&c....

Can you postpone the appointment until the following Wednesday?

BTW I had the scope done with the gas many years ago and had a similar expereince to cj - it was wicked painful waiting for the gas to leave the interstitial spaces in my body (and no, gasx won't work for that)

((Nancy)) Gosh this is a lot to go through you poor thing!

Glad to read it seems the fix may only involve a procedure and some discomfort during healing time.

w/out the gas i think the afterwards will be easier than what we're hearing about here but still, it's day surgery, with the 'michael jackson droog'. i definitely don't want an infection though!

It sounds like you have a great doctor! This thread has reminded me to make my annual (which I think is now like 1.5 years at least) on Tuesday

Erin, did you make your appt yet??!???!??? :spank:

here is a medical website that my doctor recommended to me. click on the 'patients' tab. it's not as doom and gloom - and as confusing so far- as some other medical sites i've been to recently. maybe someone else will find this website helpful as well

home sweet home! not bad at all, i highly recommend saline i think, as i have absolutely none of the pain others have mentioned with the gas. little crampy, little tired, little groggy, but feeling fine, nothing catastrophic happening below so far :funny1: and i have my warning list of things to watch for,and i'm full of holes and bandaids from needles and the iv. my dad brought me home amid many promises to check in a few times this afternoon and the insistence that he is bringing me some of the dinner olga is making tonight. personally, i think she's just glad to not have to deal with me at their house today! :tongue1:

and i think my dad thought i meant i was having a hysterectomy, which i didn't figure out until after he'd left me, so i made sure i reassured him that that wasn't it when he picked me up. :funny1: he didn't stay with me pre-op and dr snyder seemed rather surprised until i told her it was because it was a 'woman thing'. as an example i told her that all we had to do as teenager to keep him out of our bedrooms was to have one tampon visible from the doorway. on the dresser, on the nightstand, or especially a box of them in an open closet - whatever - show him one and he wouldn't come near it. :lmao: my sister and i still laugh about that. he is of the old old school of course, where men weren't involved in any of that stuff - ever. he's so funny. :)

i have a follow up appt in the office on 10/3 assuming no complications arise.

thanks for the positive thoughts. :)

apparently they weren't supposed to discharge me when they did, i got a call from my dr last night, which i missed unfortunately, saying she was planning on talking to me again. that was nice of her to call and i feel better knowing that i didn't forget all the details, i never got them! :funny1: she said she'd call back today.

Hope your cramping has subsided.

Thought of you and this thread today, as my yearly tests have resulted in the need for an ultrasound (done today) and the tech says the oncologist will probably want to have the painful thing she kept poking at biopsied . Not worried; just don't want them sucking things out of my boob with that contraption I saw in there but I'll let them do it.

the weekend was rougher than i'd planned on, that is for sure! even the short drive to the corner store caused me to grit my teeth, i did virtually nothing, for 5 days.

but - much better today. still not going to zumba tonight but i hope to start again on weds. i've missed 4 classes this session and can only have 2 makeup classes. i probably could have taken more pills over the weekend, but i really didn't want to mask what was going on. i may not have liked what my body was telling me was going to happen, but it definitely warned me. :tongue1:

do you have a date set yet?

No, not even a call from the doctor today so I guess I am not on the radar. I convinced myself twice not to call because that would make it "something" and I want it to stay nothing and convinced myself that such actions actually have some sort of impact. Lol. I see him Thursday anyway so we'll definitely talk about it then.

Lalala. :rose:

Hope you get to Wednesday Zumba!

I don't know how I missed the 2nd part of this thread but glad you made it through ok..I also had a hysteroscopy and a d&c along with ablation about 11 years ago. no fun..and the gas-x does not work. I wish I had seen this before...I would have told you you'd need at least 4--5 days off work afterwards.

hope everything turns out ok!

and it pisses me off!!! :ravn: :tongue1:

so they wanted to just prescribe a narcotic pain reliever and i said no. i was better. i was what i would have considered to be recovered and then this happens, it gets worse every single day and they want to just give me a pain pill to knock me out??? yeahhh, that's a no.

i have an ultrasound at north country at 7:30am tomorrow and an appt at the saratoga office at 10:30am. if they want to test for a uti at 10:30, please, be my freakin' guest, but i refuse to simply mask symptoms just to struggle through another 4 days. bullshit. so sorry i'm an inconvenience to you all. i gotta go take a pill.
