Aerobic simply means "prolonged exercise of moderate intensity".  It's not actually a form of specific activity or "exercize", but the physical state you hope to achieve through the activity itself.  Vaccuming could "aerobic".

First you must unlearn what you have learned.

you mean like jackie sorenson aerobics?

i think the high impact mostly went by the wayside when low impact came in and was proven to be capable of being as effective and better for the body, long term.

I do step classes that I consider aerobic workouts. And turbo kickboxing- love it- so much fun and really challenging. Zumba to a lesser degree. (I've taken a bunch of zumba classes and I'm always really annoyed at why the instructors waste so much time changing the music after EVERY SONG! make a playlist for christsake you keep bring my heart rate down all this standing around!)

Ry, check out your local Y.  from what i'm told they will always try to work with you on fees.   you would also probably qualify for their 'get started' program

Unfortunately there isn't a local Y. The MCA closed 15 years ago and  WCA closed 10 years ago.  Great suggestion though, thank you

I have a free gym membership  that is part of my medicare but classes are extra and expensive.

Lace up your shoes and WALK.  Seriously..."prolonged exercise of moderate intensity".  Just do something.  Anything.  Excuses are not aerobic.
