Yeah. No.

But if anyone goes, I hope you have a great time.

Prince is the only "artist" who I have consistently had trouble getting on my YouTube playlist.  Take notice artists who don't want their material posted on YouTube, whatever Prince is doing it seems to be working.  Just try to get Little Red Corvette on YouTube.  The only one I found requires the viewer to login to YouTube.

In the end, I think it hurts the artist as it limits the amount of new people being turned on to their music.  Those who might of ended up going to a performance like the ones mentioned above.

Yup.   :jamguy:

Take a page from the book of the Grateful Dead, give away your music for free and cultivate new fans year after year after year.

Even when you haven't toured in close to 20 years.

Agreed. I saw him in Vegas for $125 and would easily pay that again.

Don't lend him your guitar!

And, I'm all out of Prince pop-culture humor.

Tabbooma would look mighty spiffy with a pencil thin mustache and purple suit.

Does anyone know if there will be an opener?

Randolph is Saturday, but Boogie Woogie Wonder Band is tomorrow, so if Prince tickets turn out to be too expensive there's a Plan B.

Esperanza has no shows booked on her web site, which seems like she would not be the opener.

It used to be that "An Evening With..." meant no opening act.

Dunno if that's still true.

And this is "A Special Evening With..." so that may have an effect.

Glad I could clear this up for you.

Oh wait, that was last night

Fun show.  They really bring the funk! :boogie:

George Clinton's band is small compared to Prince's.

To all those going tonight & tomorrow, enjoy!  :jamguy:

Did Prince play guitar more than piano?

(I much prefer the guitar heavy shows.)

He played more guitar than piano, but he played neither more than he played either combined!  I would have preferred much more guitar, but I did enjoy it much when he was playing guitar.

Tonight will probably be different ...

I was much more impressed with the band than with Prince himself.

They laid down some serious funk.

The band should tour without Prince - cut the ticket prices in half, or more.

I sure wasn't surprised that the shows did not sell out.

had I realized Esperanza Spalding was to be in "da house"  (hizzouse?)  I would have used my former Mohegan Sun Security skillth to infiltrate her Undressing Room and risked a few years of imprisonment.

She got hair I wanna hide in.

Great show!  I though Janelle Monae was great to start the night - then a set from Doug E Fresh, what?!  Prince was fantastic too, it was tough finding a good spot to hit the bathroom.  We ended up with fantastic seats 14 rows back right on the floor.  I'm not a huge Prince fan, but it was a helluva show.

The one small downer was that where we were sitting there were a lot of people that seemed to only have tickets because they got them free from the casino.  I don't see how it is possibl to sit down for the entire show with your arms folded.  I've also had enough casino for a while, I just don't enjoy the vibe of that place overall.
