we're looking at this house in weirs beach NH. we finally got my mom to agree to a small-ish ceremony (max 50) on the beach, dinner at the house and then maybe a party later on at a bar or something where more folks can come later...

hey I know that house! I have had a place (or my parents have) since I was 4 years old (though at the other side of the lake - centre harbor)
have you been up there before? when are you thinking of having the wedding

We're looking at late September. I spent a few weekends on the lake growing up as a kid, but there's no real sentimental value in the location we're picking. It's a central location for a lot of our family and friends to get too. We'll be checking the house out tomorrow. It works for us as there is nearby parking and lodging for our guests and is within walking distance of local bars for entertainment after a very casual reception at the house following the ceremony on the beach.

my dad has a shack on a lake about an hour away from us (and I stress shack, we still have an outhouse up there) but its too small to have anyone over, dirt roads, no parking...

much more beautiful setting, though...
