You guys familiar with projection mapping? I think this stuff is so cool.

I didn't really know what it was...and didn't really get what was happening from that video.

 

Very cool!


Watched this one and see what it is. (It's 8 min long, lots of dead/slow space. Just jump ahead a few times and you can get the full idea in about 2 minutes)

 

Seems to me it is basically projecting light onto objects to give them funky/artistic effects. The results can be quite interesting -- especially if done onto large objects like a jet airliner or building.

Projection mapping onto a building -- cool.

 

(Though the name seems just a bit pretentious. It's projection art would be a more accurate/telling name, no?)

I've watched both those videos in the past, good stuff. As for changing the name to Projection Art, that works, but I don't really mind Projection Mapping either.
