They could make a very big splash in their defense, and hope they can contend for some trophies this year, and hope he changes his mind when they have won a trophy or two.

They've already spent this years money and already brought in Podolski (undisclosed) and Giroud (12 mil). who for me, look to be the RVP replacements.

Think Liverpool is regretting spending 35 million on Carrol, when they could have had RVP for less than that today.

I'm guessing you mean "1-in-every-18" not "every 18th"? Because if they truly scored on every 18th, I could see opposing keepers simply refusing to tip the ball over the bar or push a shot wide while sitting on 17, thus delaying the inevitiable.

LOTS of rotation, and lots of tinkering to come.

Welbeck and Chica will be the Sheringham and Solskjaer. they will get minutes, but RVP and Rooney will be the Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke.

Giggs is going to see far less playing time than he has in the past. and I think Scholes and Ferdinand will too. Cleverly will be in the mix with Anderson I think. Evans will get lots of minutes when he gets back from injury, and Jones will provide cover in the middle and on the right when he's back. Smalling is out a couple months, but I think he'll get some minutes on the back line too.

wow, AVFC falls 1-0 at West Ham. but they attempted over a dozen shots, and played positive football. while i'm not thrilled with the result, i'm happy with the effort. we need our injured players back, though. very little depth with Gabby and Albrighton sidelined.

There is a very strong change he will be a Tottenham player come 11 o'clock. The fee has been agreed between the clubs and he is set to undergo a very quick medical.

That is huge for Spurs. Losing Modric will hurt, but now Dempsey can play 90 minutes where RDV can only play 60 - 70 a game before sitting a few.

Bale, Adebayor, Dempsey (9.5 mil pounds) will be pretty formidable. Now if they can play even better on the back line they could crack the top four with Arsenal prolly not going to be top 4 this year.
