wow... from classico to a home team advantage over a reserve side. shocking.
it's been a year of the unexpected, pretty much across the board, in European football. and the "home team advantage' is also fielding a reduced side - Chelsea's without 4 starters but Munich's without 3 starters for the final as well.
i'm just pissed because if Chelsea pulls this off, but misses the 4 spot in the league, that bumps Newcastle or Spurs to Europa League, when they truly may have earned the 4th slot through the Prem.

i hate to say it... like ALOT, but I'm pulling for Munich, for just that reason. I think the Chelsea misses are bigger than that of Bayern.
i'm pretty much split. if Chelsea wins, in Germany nonetheless, it's huge and it's all on them. i won't be able to deny them that. all the while, who figured this would be their season? it's just impossible to fathom. winning the whole thing without Terry's help would be fantastic.

The only player I'd like to see it for would be Essien.. who should be getting a run out with Miereles missing. It's criminal that RDM has been leaving him out. he's a beast.
but that last bit is interesting... which would be better... him not being on the field to lift the trophy or this?

then we'll have to hear it from Bub... and my friend who lived in London for 2 years and decided to adopt Chelsea.

UEFA has confirmed that Terry gets a winner's medal and lifts the Trophy is Chelsea are champions of Europe, regardless of having to watch the match from the stands. so, question answered.
i wonder which of his teammates' wives he's going to shag while they're on the pitch and he's not.

Smalling is to small to mark Kompany.
Smalling is taller than Kompany, but he didn't get the positioning. They switched off for the wrong 3 seconds.
the tactics were shit, and valencia should have been involved from the go. they were never going to keep them out for 90 minutes, and would always need to worry about the counter once City got ahead. The selection of Park and Giggs was wrong for me.
putting Rooney up on his own has not worked time and time again. I cannot understand why he thinks this is a good tactic.
2 to go. we need 6 points, and have to hope that Newcastle does the business at home. this weekend. meh.

Will Hodgson make a difference or will England dissappoint again and again?
he won't make much a difference this summer, but it'll be on him to improve things for the World Cup. there's a changing of the guard coming, let's see how he steers them through it.

I agree, but I do not think the manager runs the English team. I think the media runs the english team.

In this case, He'll be given everything he needs / wants, and there will be a lot more patience than the previous managers.
if they allow the media to run the team then they will get what they deserve. And that is what I mean about the changing of the guard.. he needs to take a hard stance, realize the FA is behind him and get on with things.

Chelsea and Liverpool play the FA Cup on Saturday, and then play a league match on Tuesday. I predict at least one red card and a bunch of yellow card's in the return match on Tuesday.

if Chelsea wins the Cup, i don't expect much from the Tuesday prem match - you'll have a pair of disinterested sides, with little motivation to do anything, though Chelsea will still want to earn maximum League points for 4th place (just in case Bayern fields a strong squad for that little match upcoming in Munich...) if 'Pool wins the Cup, i expect you'll see John Terry shoving his knees into Suarez' back within 5 minutes, and a general falling apart on both teams parts, the nastiness you're calling for.

and Chelsea still hasn't found the back of the net at home. Lampard and Drogba both on in the last ten minutes to try and find an equalizer against Newcastle, but if this result holds, we're looking at some shakeup in the CL positioning.
