Swimming in Long Island Sound during Vibes "high" tide.  Who's done it?  Would you do it again?  Who's planning to do it?  Thoughts/Advice?

I'd wear sandals/water shoes, this year. Post-Sandy and whatnot. The line-up's really good. It'll be hard to find time to swim.

I usually take a dip. Will prolly go again. A bit seedy but not awful. High tide is pretty ok.

I stopped talking about it due to the reactions I got from all the pussified people.

But I usually take a good swim at high tide almost every day.  Yes to sandals if I haven't scoped out where the rocks are in advance.

Ive done it during schwetty Vibes. Did it b/c I was literally dying from the heat.

The sound doesn't bother me, what does is the salt water on my body when Im done. If there were showers right there or a hose to rinse off I would be taking more swims.

I stopped talking about it due to the reactions I got from all the reasonably cautious and extremely intelligent people.

It will be high tide in the mid-afternoons this weekend. I swim in the sound every weekend with no ill effects except for salty chafing if I don't shower right away.

Swim in pairs, or at least with someone who can swim watching you from shore. This is not a solo activity unless you're a very strong swimmer.

Peace.

Read that as swim in Paris....funny in 2 ways when you think about it. :funny1: When I say swim I kinda mean dunk my body in to cool off...nothing close to over my head...or chest for that matter.
