Helicopters all over the place here, they must be taking him to the courthouse.

Edited looks like they're evacuating the courthouse, might be something different

This is becoming a daily occurrence.  There were bomb threats called into two different schools on Long Island yesterday.

I think the world really has gone mad.  :(

Isn't that where most of the victims were taken?

They seemed to be distributed among Boston/Brookline etc. Hospitals.  It is nearby but there are closer ones, my guess, triage for the less injured or specific injuries BW are good with.

Apparently the New York Post is now crowd sourcing their reporting to 4Chan & Reddit.

http://deadspin.com/...dium=socialflow

k-bigpic.jpg

On Monday, the Post doggedly stuck to its claim that 12 were killed in the Boston Marathon bombings. On Tuesday, CNN (among others) reported that a suspect had been arrested, before walking that all the way back. Today, the Post wrests back the "what the fuck are you doing?" crown by putting two "potential suspects" on the cover of the newspaper. They are most assuredly innocent.

But maybe there was a reason for them to be at the marathon, wearing track jackets and carrying bags: they're runners.

The kid in the blue jacket is a middle-distance runner at Revere High School. Last week he ran the two-mile in 11:20.

Witch hunts end as quickly as they begin. Today on CBS This Morning, John Miller specifically said these two are not the suspects the FBI is seeking. This Boston Globe story sheds more light on the images authorities are using to track down the suspects, and their description makes clear it's not a high schooler and his friend:

The official said that the two suspects were seen separately on videotape — one at each of the two bombing sites, which are located about a block apart.

Reddit is panicking too. In the "FindBostonBombers" subreddit, the top post tells users to stop spreading the images of these two, and urges people to delete anything already posted that identifies them.

(The second-top post reads, "Media outlets, please stop making the images of potential suspects go viral, then blaming this small subreddit for it.")

moved this thread to P&R?!?!?!?!

really?

this event far transcends mere politics and religion

if there EVER were a thread to be left on the family 'table' it is this one

people need to grieve and be soothed and healed

people dont come in this forum cuz its atmosphere is usually more of debate and discussion and differences of opinion

the nature of this thread NEEDS to not be hidden away in here

sorry, but i feel rather strongly about this!

its only been a little over 2 days!

It'sd as if this whole thing is being set as a social experiment. I've seen more "suspects" over this than can be recalled. Still the two former SEALs turned private security still come to mind. Most of those folks in the crowd were in coloered windbreakers and typical marathon garb, then you have two men in civilian zone "combat" attire sporting giant packs. It's just odd to me. They very well could be security for the event....

I would suggest starting another thread in the family forum and hopefully folks will keep the religious stuff out of it.

It's a shame they choose to move entire threads but that's the system in place.

I think if they're going to move threads that merely mention certain religions then they should be fair and move threads that mention all religions, which is what appears to have been done in this case.

While I agree it should have been moved based on the policy of moving them when religion is brought in, I'm still against them moving any thread simply because it mentions religion.

Yay VGs?

Boo VGs?

in fact, i would be surprised as a newb if i came here and didnt see a thread on the marathon bombings!

having it there with the support and love in it portrays positively on our community, not negatively, imho

but wtf do i know :undecided:

I always hit 'view new content' and it's all there, no matter the category. That's where I hang out, I suppose.

I guess that would explain why other category threads get way less traffic....
