They have record profits and they still owe 87 Billion dollars to the government?

This link has every dollar paid out by tarp, and what is either outstanding, paid, what made money what lost money from TARP.

I guess I wondered how they could profit when they still owe A LOT of money.

Shouldn't those profits go to the Fed with interest.

The fed backed them in the first place. Hell, these are goverment secured exchanges. Of course it's all just another example of why government should not be involved in any economic sectors.

I had bear meat at a Bear and Beanhole Supper once upon a time.

It was good.

Actually, yes.  :rolling:

They dug this big pit and tossed in a shitload of baked beans and bear meat, let it cook all day and it fed about 100 people.

It was at that very event when Elmer Gardner, mayor of Nayaug, announced that Nayaug was seceding from Connecticut.

Shortly thereafter, Ella Grasso paid Elmer a visit during the Grange Fair and talked him out of it.

Ella and Elmer then shared a float during the Grange Fair Parade, all happy and waving and announcing that Nayaug would not secede from the great state of Connecticut after all.

People talked about that shit for years.

I can't believe I'm talking about it now.
