Gas Auxiliary Heater

I apparently have one on my bus. I know absolutely nothing about it. I would appreciate any info.

All I have heard indicates you might not want to use it.  Some reports of safety issues (aka fire warning)

When it worked, the one that I had was almost too good. 

 

1: It was like leaving the headlights on energy-wise, so the vehicle had to be running when using it or you risked a dead battery.

2: It used a lot more gasoline that you would expect.

3: It ran so hot that I actually cooked half a dozen eggs in a paper grocery bag that was left too close to the heater vent... and another time caused a tiny chip in my windshield to grow into a full blown crack. When using the gas heater to assist defrosting after an ice storm.

 

I now just go with a Big Buddy Heater, and a battery operated CO detector.

Sell it on the Samba. Get a blanket instead.
