LOVE the line-up. Rob Garza is my absolute favorite artist. I've traveled pretty far to see him and might do it again, but am unlcear whether he is doingsets both nights, or just one?

I only left my camp to shit, piss and jump in the sound during the day light hours that year. Sad.

If the Roots do play on Sunday it'll be a huge bummer. They are a pretty energetic, fun live band. I'm hoping for a sat night set, like post-headliner. Or even pre-headliner.

Two nights of Phil is an honor, don't get me wrong...but it's also kind of a yawner.

I only came to my camp to refill the camel back with rum punch, fill my pockets with frozen waters and cold beer, get 10 min of shade and to share a puff or two. Then it was back out into the heat to rage! :panic: .........bunch of newbs.

Actually I thought that's what newbs do...I only had to turn my head in a particular direction at camp to hear either stage...had a running shower of ice cold cooler water keeping me alive...lol

It was all about pace and hydration. Rum punch is 50% rum 50% spring water. Put it in a camel back with built in gel ice pack and fill with ice. It was heaven as it diluted. Chase that with constant cold water all day long and never go by a water cooler without refilling your bottle. Every once in awhile enjoy a cold beer and a salty snack at camp or the VIP snack table and some fruit and your good to go until late night.

Not a newb plan at all.

Actually a well thought out buzz sustaining body hydrating, salt repeating regimen to rage all day and all night.

I was fine till night 3 where exhaustion finally kicked in. I just couldn't sleep in the heat and by 1am I crashed out.

Another key aspect was teamwork elder, dee, and I kept constant watch on each other to make sure we were okay. Well, until elder went on a walk about and broke ranks and took a dirt nap under his truck.

The hardest point was Levon's set. You could hear the grass sizzling on the feild.

Am I crazy for thinking Roots get Sunday billing?  Ct resident day needs a pop drawing, family friendly act, right?  I guess Crowes could fit for that audience, but thinking that they will get a more partying settime

I'm not a big Crowes fan either, but I did see a show of theirs a couple years ago and they were really good.   :jamguy:

Their songs on the radio - not so much.

What time do things normally wrap up? we can only take one day off, either Thursday or Monday, and it's a 3 hour drive.... Tough choice...

Thursday off = getting almost a whole days worth of music, including late night

Get up on Sunday and pack up your whole site and then go to music.  When done, just go hop in your car and leave!  Since it is over at 8pm you will be home by midnight on Sunday and can make work on Monday on the sheer leftover adrenaline!

Just one Vibes junkies humble opinion :D

Just to let you know working Monday is going to suck if you party for the long weekend!  Maybe not for this year but if you can plan it for next year or beyond, Hotel it up Wednesday night so you are bright eyed for when the gates open Thursday and maybe hotel it up again Sunday night so you can party and get a good relaxing sleep before the long ride home.

I'm still a relative young'n, and I'm ex-navy, I've done worse! :) Thanks though. Best way to learn is the hard way for me, anyway.

What time do gates open? We were going to leave early Thursday AM... Trying to avoid hotels right now, my BFF is a bit broke this year...
