I am very happy with the lineup!

Two night of Phil, RRE, Galactic, TTB, John Butler, Kung Fu...these are all

bands that are creating new and viable music UM, lotus

A major jamband SCi

A different saturday headliner String cheese again or beck, ben harper, black keys, pearl jam, wilco

Some cool singer song writers like Ryan Adams or Andew Bird

more exciting latenights  though I am happy to see dosio I'd rather see live electronic music or other funk besides Deep banana blackout and dj's that were hip at Camp Bisco 5 years ago

Like I said it's not bad it's just not super exciting.  It's very similar to All Good and the Peach fest.  You just switch a few acts here and there.  Almost every band on the lineup has played vibes before.

On a positive I think the phil lineup looks great; one night would of been fine with me though.  Always like galactic.  Hoping John Butler Trio will be on a different day besides Sunday as I really enjoy them.  The Roots will also be awesome.  I always enjoy the Black Crowes I am just not super jazzed for them for some reason, hopefully that will change.  Fishbone should be cool too though it seems an odd choice I would of gone with pietasters or bosstones for a ska band but none the less I am happy to see some ska on there.

I'll give you Railroad Earth but if you think Galactic, Tedeschi-Trucks and Grace/Nocturnals are not creating viable music you havent been paying attention.

Also, I know Pietasters are one of the top in the genre but average Joe/Janes dont know them as much as MMB or Fishbone.

Who cares if the lineup is similiar to All Good it's in OHIO!

We'd all love to have you around for Vibes but maybe you  should look into The Firefly Festival in Dover, DE..

I think I am too ADD with music for the Vibes sometimes.  I get really into something for a few years and then move on.  The only bands that I have ever really stuck with are Phish, biscuits and Rancid.  I was def in my Vibes type music phase around 04-06

Firefly fest is very expensive.  Like I said there are parts I like but a lot that I don't find over exciting.  I will be happy to hang with my friends.  But if people ask my opinion I am not going to say it's the best lineup blah blah blah, because I don't feel that is is.   Don't get me started on Grace Potter :rolling:

I am assuming Phil will just be Fri/Sat so I wouldn't be looking for that Saturday night slot filler anytime soon.

I don't see a closer yet...unless its sat/Sunday Phil...

and prolly get CRB on the cheap too

I got to see fishbone at the doheni surf fest last year they were pretty decent. I also seen Eddie money that night too. So fishbone didn't have try to hard to be better ;)

Phil is a big enough name for me. :-) Bobby always help..you never know who is going to come out and join. Jerry would be the number one name.and isnt he part or mostly why were here?   Wouldnt mind to see Taj Mahal again...or maybe a new taste, like The Lumineers, or Arcade Fire

I only know Bobby from the years and years of listening to tapes and whatever...to automatically connect him to the Sound. Either way, I will get to see a legend two nights in a row, with great musicians playing with him. Im pretty stoked about that

 Loving this line up!  :bouncey:

There are still other bands that aren't announced, and I'm hoping one of them makes me wet.

Would a Paul Simon closer do that for you?

Get on the bus GUS!

In the festival world I'm still a newbie...this gives me the opportunity to check out bands I have missed but wanted to check out, I don't have to camp on a mountain with 10 people crammed in an RV chillin with folks even lolder than me.

Same people not happy with the lineup will still be at Vibes anyway

i am just dumbfounded that people dont like this line-up

people really think it sucks? fer realz?!?!?! :dunno:

i guess its just not for me to understand

This.

I will be happy to catch the Tedeski Trucks set that I missed two years ago because my head was catching on fire.

And this!

A lot of the bands that I personally wanted to see are on that lineup, so I'm a happy camper. Stoked for the Black Crowes, and come on dude, they got the freaking Roots! I've always wanted to see them live and never have. Also, I've been listening to a lot of the more recent Grace Potter shows and they sound fantastic. That's always a good time. Personally, I couldn't care less about most of the late night (Kung Fu excepted) but that's fine. I prefer to spend evenings laughing at camp anyway.

I'm a happy Dee. :bouncey:

Although, I wouldn't say no to a Paul Simon closer...

super stoked to catch the roots!!  & would love it if jill scott showed up as a special guest

the rest of the lineup seems kind of meh to me...not blowing me away, but i def wouldn't say it sucks.  gives me a chance to check out some bands that i've been meaning to check out for a while now which is always good (if i actually make it to the stage that is )

usually when i'm not expecting much, things turn out to be awesome so....

I'm underwhelmed, but a lineup on paper doesn't translate to what comes out of the speakers. The artist pages on the Vibes website are a good way to get familiar with some of the music. http://gatheringofth...es.com/lineup

sorry, but for me, 2 nights of Phil w/ Scofield says it all.  The soul of this community comes from people that traveled hundreds of miles to see GD 2 nights in a row (or a dozen nights if you could.).  I think I can handle Phil for 2 nights...

I think it's a solid lineup but it's missing that one big name that brings us fReAkS out of the woodwork and into the pit.

Like Primus, Flaming Lips, or Janes Addiction. Hell, even the Pumpkins new live style works.

Also wouldn't mind a more electronic feel for latenite. DBB is fun, but something like Pretty Lights or Big Gigantic would blow my socks off.

I guess I'm saying I dig the lineup, but this year I'll be all amped up to relax as opposed to truly getting on with the boogie. Ya gotta get it on with the boogie.

I like the lineup so far.  Mostly "yay" but with just enough "nay" so I can get a nap in & be ready for latenight (I'm looking at you, Black Crowes! ).  I'm so happy about Phil & Friends, 2002 was one othe best Vibes for me.  My only wish is that it was Phil's 2002 Friends playing again this year (I love Warren & Molo), but the current Friends are gonne be an excellent time.

Strangefolk is the only act on that list that I'll probably sit out.

Hah, next to MAYBE Phil and Friends, I think the Original Strangefolk has more lyrical, instrumental, and variety of genre within the band than ANY other band at Vibes.  More room for me on the lawn >:)
