hey there
Our Sage is 17 and recently started getting sick. Took her to the vet and the bloodwork showed that her gallbladder and liver were congested and her kidneys were deficient. She had a few B12 aquapuncture shots and is doing great! Also, she eats wet food and it really works well for her
Have you tried wet? We use Wellness grain free....
Hope you kitty feels better soon!

((murry))
my old lady cat's only almost 11, and she's all about the wet food. between wet meals, I put dry food in a dish and add water to it for her (like a bowl of cereal). She digs it. Due to tooth loss, she needs her food soft. I try to put her food up on the counter where my little orange truck doesn't jump up, or I'll take him in the bathroom and brush him while she's eating.

I have a 16 yr old and 12 yr old. The 16 year old is now starting to show her age. My vet said she doesn't need shots any more and to let her eat what ever she wants. She's always been small (5lbs-ish) and has only gotten smaller as she's gotten older. She gets a lot of wet food, meat baby food, tuna, and kitten milk. It seems to help if I slightly heat up the food too. She doesn't seem to want much dry food now either.
Good luck
(PS. My childhood cat lived to be 21.)

I just had to put my 17 year old Charlie Girl down. She was a rottweiller shepard mix. Her hips were shot, I had to pick her up twice last week, she had accidents every day even if she had just come in.
I will miss her, I had her for 16 years, but it was time, she was in pain.

Sorry for your loss hippiechickme. I wasn't able to make strange creek because murry had taken a turn for the worse. Thought we were going to have to take her in for the final rest but she seems to be feeling better now. She is eating more but still slow. Not sure how much longer she will last but she will be treated like a queen until the end

murry has decided she is not going to be leaving us .........ever. she has gained weight and generally she seems pretty good. better than baker who has decided that if murry gets wet food because she is "dying" well then he should be able to get wet food if he is sick as well. baker is now getting insulin 2 times a day and may have a mass in his belly. the vet also thinks he has an enlarged liver.

When my old doberman who passed 15 yrs. ago, was having the same problems with food my dad would make her an egg and cheese sandwich every night for the last eight months of his life. This was the only thing he kept down consistantly. So my humble advice is find their favorite and feed them it as long as they can endure it. God Luck and warmest wishes.
