omgps
i read that fast and read it as "ohmygodpeoplesuck"
was i close?
and yeah, they suck so BAD
i always say 'i LOVE to drive - its the driving with other people on the road that sucks'
in 8th grade, when pressed by teachers for the yearbook, i told them i wanted to be a truck driver
i believed it at the time cuz i had vicious wanderlust and was intrigued by the idea of learning to drive
seemed like the perfect job
my brother drove cross-country for england trucking co for many years
its a tough schedule

Actually, I meant my "ohmy G.P.S."....My garmin tried to tell me "arriving at destination...on right!" Of course, it was on the left...
Today has been work...traffic was "prickly" i shall say...
390 so far and I need to get to Illinois tomorrow...from Indiana...seems easy unless you officially "run out of time"....sitting now, waiting to get loaded....then it'll be....find somewhere to park for the night and haul butt over to Mt Vernon, Ill, and then destination---(maybe) Kansas City, Mo area....

In KCMO, hit up Gates BBQ. Avoid Jack Stack. It's crap...
So...Jack Stack is Crap, you quip
And Gates is better fare,
If I get to pee in peace,
I'll feel so debonaire..
I usually end up at the Petro at Oak Grove
The salad bar is OK
But has been somewhat changed
Since they were sold to the same company that owns the TA's...

Day took me north of Baton Rouge to pick up a load...I thought for sure it was going to be another heavy load...but no, ...Much to my surprise it turned out to be light...made for a relatively easy day. Except maybe for one goofball who wanted to play games on the highway...some people just don't get it.....

I'm very curious about that lifestyle. How is it at Secondi Brothers in Milford?
quiet most of the time...that "corridor" gets a lot of traffic. most drivers there are pretty tired and just need fuel, coffee, or sleep...I usually park next door as there's less dust..

I mean do any of the truck stops serve a multitude of fine Harney & Sons loose leaf teas? Crumpets? Maybe tea sandwiches?
I read a crazy article about the underbelly of the trucking industry.
Not that this has anything to do with anything, but as long as I'm nannering senselessly. How about rodeo clowns...or bull riders? Those guys have interesting stories. I actually spent a few hours talking to a pro bull rider in the Denver airport on the way back from Dead tour years ago. He was a mess, looked like his face had been danced on by a few brahmas in his day. A video of our interaction would be a classic to have. A spun out kid off tour conversing with the bull rider that always places just high enough to get the loot for a steak, a plane/bus ticket, and the buy in for the next rodeo.
Yup, a couple of geniuses we were. My brain was leaking out of my ear and he was spitting out teeth every minute or 2, had to be good.

Wonder if there are any truckers that don't drink coffee.

I'm sure there are...There are assorted Bigelow teas available at most truckstops, but no loose teas...
Nanner all ya want..It's a fine art!....
Have met some interesting truckers for sure...
