we used to have an old K100 with a kitty Cat 3408, pain in the ass 24 volt starter with a series parallel switch

weird transmission too, 16 speed

nothing like the 72 Jimmy glided onto a 75 Freightliner with a 350 small cam Cummins and a 13 speed road ranger

I was never a truck driver but i used to take them from work for joy rides around the country roads.

sounds like you know a bit. i've always liked the kenworths. real quality. 16? was that 3 5's and a low hole? asleep at the wheel...good choice for friday afternoon vibes!

An old Oneida Freight truck set up for hauling doubles on the thruway. It was an Eaton with a 5 Speed and a 4 way splitter but you had to skip 4 combinations, giving you 16 forward and 4 in reverse. Ray( a real old school driver) liked it cause with the 400 HP 8 cylinder Cat, he only had to use the splitter, once on the highway, for his top 2 gears and that's all it needed.

it's a 386, 437 hp. 6 cyllinder, turbo charged cummins.. has an eaton 10 speed trans. straight 10, used to drive a freightliner with a super 10, top two auto...

one of these days they know they gotta get goin...
