9PM • ALL AGES • $12

➲ ABAKUS ➲

Abakus is an artist project of music producer Russ Davies, who also releases nudisco-electro under the Cinnamon Chasers alias (http://www.facebook....cinnamonchasers), and progressive rock/ambient with his father Dave Davies (founder of 60s cult act The Kinks) as The Aschere Project. Abakus explores the deeper and more emotionally complex side to electronic music and is releasing a new dual-part album titled Futurism in 2012.

His sound drawns many influences from old and new and has become known for being of it's own kind, a fusion of breaks, dub, techno, trance and electro. His first album "That Much Closer To The Sun" as Abakus was released in 2004 on Liquid Sound Design, record label of veterian producer Youth (Killing Joke/The ORB). In the 6 years since releasing this album Abakus has built a devoted following of fans globally which has seen himperform at countless festivals and parties world-wide. Music from this album have been licensed to over 40 CD album compilations, on dozens of keylabels including Ministry Of Sound, Cocoon & Bhudda Bar. Abakus has remixed The Orb, Our Man From Odessa, The Perishers, Roxy Music.

Russ also releases nu-disco and electro music under the moniker Cinnamon Chasers, which gained major notoriety with the hit tune and video Luv Deluxe, which won the award at the 2010 SXSW Conference for Best Music Video. The video has been a major viral hit on the internet with over 7 million views on the web and screened on over 30 film festivals world wide, including best Dance Video category at the UKMVAs. As Cinnamon Chasers he has toured worldwide, most notably headlining the Elektrana Stage at EXIT Festival/Serbia, with Alexander Robotnick, The Hacker & Anoraak.

The new Abakus album Futurism is being released in two parts. The first was released July 2012, and the second part will be released early 2013.

➲ BUSINESS CASUAL DISCO ➲

From a primordial mixture of slick grooves and funky beats came the DJ collective known as Business Casual Disco. The trio shares a love of all things disco with a generous serving of house and deep. Driven by swirling synths and heart palpitating bass lines, each set is served with a unique touch that will get you bobbing your head then stomping your feet.

Each member brings their own taste to the collective sound and rest assured BCD is always business but couldn’t keep things more casual. Think of it as the more tasteful side of music, like Playboy for your ears.

➲ OMLING ➲

Evan Lentz a.k.a. Omling has become the roots for what we will soon know as the tree of life in modern electronic music culture. Perfectly planned sets tease the audience, melding into organic psybient dance, emphasizing atmosphere and engulfing the listener in beautiful thought provoking frequencies. Fakelife DJ and family too many, he specializes and themes his works to individuals, circumstance, and spirituality; every time telling an emotion conjuring story. His dark progressive stylings bring the user down evoking mystery and fear, before catapulting them back through the earth into heavenly moments of sonic love-awareness. For these moments Evan has become a symbol of progression and evolution, impacting his audience, leaving them vibrating with love. The story teller behind the tables radiates love and divinity while maintaining a hard driving depth that you can feel behind closed eyelids, a balance and art that requires time and proper analysis of all aspects of the experience. A product of Therapy in Providence, R.I. and a key component of what is a symbiosis between the evolution of the electronic music scene and the appreciation of life alongside those you share life with, Fakelife. During this mind bending journey through sound, three words are to be remembered “We Are One”.
