so Mom has had fluid in ears causing loss of hearing and pronounced general disorientation...dispite Dr's visits reporting nothing and my reasurance, she's talked herself into a hospitalization with tests and repeat tests...sure she's having a TIA or brain tumor...

 

and now we're off to a wake for the brother of an old friend...

 

Break week has not been the staycation we were hoping for...but then, they never seem to be.

trying NOT to get frustrasted with Mom, but it seems harder to do than it should be...

think she needs to up the Zolft since she is really bad at resting andlaying low

AS for your mom acupuncture helped me with all my ear issues majorly!  Got rid of vertigo in one shot. Hope it's nothing serious. Maybe make her some brownies to help mellow her out

Well, she's just so anxious on a daily basis...probably part of what gives her energy..

she just got back from Viet Nam (head cold upon return is where the ear issues sarted) and thats about her 4th trip in 3 years.

Amazing...

 

I'm probably afriad of what this sudden drop in her self confidence will do her psychie. wish she'd embrace some aternative treatments, as there really seems to be none of the life threatening issues she's getting herself stressed over.    Must keep reminding myself that even if off center, her belief in her situation makes it very real to her.  I think she's needing regular reminders that she's ok and this inner ear issue will resolve...and she's not suffering from brain tumor or stroke...

and poor Laurie was the only direct family member for her brother.  Felt like she was alone, although she has cousins and aunts/ uncles etc.  She's trying to get custody of a nephew with a mother who can't take care of him...extra messy as she'd be taking him to California...NY will make this more of  a nightmare than it already is. Hate seeing friends and family go through this stuff

well, dispite all the negatve test results, sje's staying in the hospitl until Monday...

I think she just is calm there because she can give up any worry and throw herself o the mercy and care of teh staff.

 

So, maybe it will be a good step to letting time work its magic on her inner ears.
