Was TLC motors in Hoags Corners (Renenselear county) Terry LaCasse is semi retired but has a great guy Andy, who worked for him who took over. now I think it's Flint European Automotive. Good with newer, but pretty far out in the boonies unless you need that "special" knowledge that old VW's often need.

- As I suspected from the repeated valve issue on #4....we need 1 new head. Theother one looks fine. The crappy muffler (I think it was from Bus Depot, sad to say) has to go... looks great on the outside, but sounds like there is not a baffle in the can! So budget goes +$475 for the head...and counting...

Oh, yea...now new pistons ordered. Odd wear on the ring grooves. +$450
Alternator bearings worn...add 1 rebuilt alternator +$95
all in all, 3k is becoming 4k
can't wait to hear her purr and get back to full power!

I highly recommend Cape Breton NS... especially the northern most campground, in the horribly named "Meat Cove"
,,, maybe you'll make it up to Rooney Mountain with us.

now it's looking like our travel window is a bit tight to enjoy N.S.
Looks like N.H and Maine will make better use of the time we have.
Maybe end of the summer, but starts getting cold up there!
