how long was it down for?
Not sure...trying asking the webdude, I'm sure he is aware of the issues with the program he installed.
or perhaps he may have posted a thread informing everyone that we may be experiencing some software/data base issues.
wedude is always keeping us well informed of the issues that occur regularly since the forum was changed from vbulletin or whatever software or site that horror show was...
I believe the old board had issues like one or two times a 3 year year cycle.

actually its wasn't the software at all, it was me tightening up the security settings of the server and I fucked up, my bad, sorry folks.
Well, shit happens and really we should be thanking you (and the rest of the folks who help provide this FREE service) for making available to us for over a decade!
That being said: thank you for all your efforts.

Yes yes yes we know this is a free gift from GOTV...but after all these years that is implied and well known.
It's no secret that this this board software is garbage compared to what we've had in the past...well save for the Vanilla disaster.
Jeez Josh, look a gift horse in the mouth whydoncha? ![]()

It's 2005 all over again...and 2006...2007...Josh has been making the argument the board software sucks for years. Every time the board has a problem, regardless of Software/provider.
That's why theDHJ always breaks the board, no matter what. He does it on purpose to argue about a software change.
2005 called and wants its board argument returned.

IMO vBulletin is still the most superior board software available. It was great when we had it though I know that the copy we had was jacked.
Dave the only times I've complained were now and during the Vanilla era.
What's appropriate anyway?

Webdude I have to respectfully disagree. IPboard has had more issues than any other software we've seen thus far. There's still issues. See the double members tab? If you use mobile pull down your personal control panel...it's jacked.

vBulletin is nice too, but we had the same copy that everyone else had and it was still jacked up. The duplicated Member tab I fixed last week unless you're talking about some other Member tab, I will look into the mobile issues. These are small template / skin related problems in the realm of forum hosting. Im concerned more with security and MySQL efficiency.
ps: this cant be worse than Vanilla.

Thanks for looking into the glitches. The worst part about this one is the search feature, it's horrid. I liked PHPbb when we had it. I'll always miss the zero boards though.

Please don't take anything I say re databases n shit...I have to complain...I'm compelled.
And I woulda went with the "near earth" asteroid taking out the satellite as the cause...
I think there are satellites that orbit the earth which are further than the moon...so I'd go with that
