Thinking about pulling off that Boardie Picnic again at the Tourne Park in Boonton, NJ as I've done several years in the past.
Considering Saturdays: April 20, April 27, or May 4
Any thoughts? Conflicts? Reasons to go with one date above all others? Lemme know.

I know a band that can play...
hrmmm... Wouldn't be the first time this event had musical support. The Basement Generals performed an almost acoustic set there before a bar gig two years ago. The used a little amplifier powered by a car inverter. I'd welcome it!
Having formal amplified music there is a non-starter though. Forces another permit, which forces the presence of a paid police officer. But we can go with acoustic (or almost acoustic) music till everyone's hands fall off.

4/20 good for me... count me in for set up/ prep help as well.
Actually, I'm gonna have to coordinate some serious help this time. In the past, I was able to get j-me involved as my primary helper. But for a variety of reasons, his availability is not guaranteed. I could probably formally hire a crew member, but I'd have to pass the costs along. Would much prefer a dedicated volunteer kitchen krewe, if possible. Well, more on this later. Right now, focus is on getting the date sorted out.

once the date is sorted I'm going to wedge it into my calendar and call in family to help with the kiddies. that's the only way it'll happen.

So bummed to have to miss last year. The year before was fabulous. We hope to come this year! Can't do 4/20 - its daughter's birthday. And besides, the Diddy's will be in Jersey the 27th!!!
I didn't run it last year. I was knee deep in my kitchen renovation. Just couldn't pull it off. But I hope to come back with all guns firing this time.

Tough to make a date decision when I really wanna see everyone there. No matter what date I choose, somebody gets the shitty end of the stick. Maybe I'll let this thread fester for a week to allow more poll votes and then make the hard decision. I never checked with the park for availability yet, so that may narrow the field too.
